Pay Range $25.63-$41.00* # North Country Orthopedic Group # Surgical Tech/LPN # Part Time #8:30a-5p- Day Shift (Req#7172)# Responsibilities: Sets up, handles, monitors, operates, and processes the sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during surgical procedures. Must understand procedures being performed and anticipate the needs of the surgeon. Performs appropriate counts, decontamination, preparation, sterilization of surgical instruments. Distributes surgical instruments and medical equipment throughout the surgery center utilizing infection control and safety practices during all phases of the process. Cleans/prepares instruments for terminal sterilization and assist with cleaning of room when necessary. Assists in the transfer and positioning of patients. Inspects instruments and equipment for signs of damage and wear and tear. Unpacks, checks, and stocks new equipment, instruments and devices. Maintains accurate records of when items undergo sterilization. Monitors temperature and humidity conditions within storage areas. Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development across the life span and the ability to use that knowledge to individualize the plan and delivery of care or services. EDUCATION: Required: Graduated from a nationally accredited education program for surgical technologist and holds and maintains certified surgical technologist credential administered by a nationally accredited surgical technologist credentialing organization; or completed a military surgical technology program; OR #Provides evidence that he or she was employed# as a surgical technologist in a healthcare facility for a cumulative period of one (1) year, occurring within the four (4) years immediately prior to January 1, 2015; OR Is in the service of the federal government, to the extent the person is performing duties related to that service; OR Has current NYS LPN license LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: Required: â- CPR Certification TRAINING and EXPERIENCE: Preferred: â- Clinical Experience *The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants.
