Position Summary:

The NC Programmer will work closely with Manager of Machining Methods, Design Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, and Operations to provide and improve NC program solutions for the manufacture of new and existing product. The programmer will design, develop, and help validate tool and fixture concepts in CATIA V5. The programmer will ensure that new NC Programs are developed efficiently and meet all company standards, and help to prove out new processes and machining methodologies.

This position is located at ADI's campus in Santa Clarita, California.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop, or assist in the development of comprehensive machined part manufacturing processes, working with an integrated team of Engineering, Planning, Operations, and Quality personnel.

  • Develop CNC programs using CATIA V5 for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC mills, based upon engineering drawings and solid models.

  • Develop solid models from 2D data sets.

  • Develop tooling and fixture concepts and models in CATIA V5.

  • Assist in rolling out new machining methodologies and programs, including 1st Article operations.

  • Evaluate and integrate shop machinist feedback into existing programs and processes in a timely manner.

  • Occasionally work on special projects, including machine capability assessment and process/program improvement.

Experience and Education:

  • 10+ years' experience in a manufacturing of heavy industry environment, aerospace preferred but not required

  • Hands-on machining experience, esp. with exotic materials and Siemens 840D-controlled machines is preferred but not required.

  • A.S. or B.S. degree in a related engineering discipline is highly desirable.

Required Skills:

  • Expert-level knowledge of CATIA V5 and Vericut machine simulation.

  • Demonstrated ability to follow good manufacturing practices and to design tooling & fixtures in CATIA V5.

  • Knowledge of CATIA V4 data structure for parts mastered in CATIA V4.

  • Knowledge of Aerospace inspection process and FAI documentation requirements.

  • Knowledge of ITAR Compliancy and ISO & QA 9000/9001 Compliancy

  • Must meet all requirements for ITAR clearance.

  • Ability to read and understand 3D GD&T information using CATIA V5's FTA functionality.

  • Demonstrated ability to accurately assess work effort and to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints.

  • Working knowledge of CATIA V4 data structure for parts mastered in CATIA V4 and CATIA V5 Process Catalogs for NC Programming automation.

  • Knowledge of editing of PPTABLES, Tool Catalogs, and Post-Processors.

  • Proficient understanding of G&M-Code.

  • Microsoft Office proficiency.

  • Comfortable in a shop-floor environment and in working with production personnel to solve problems.

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of Aerospace inspection process and FAI documentation requirements.

  • Working knowledge of Wintool and Dassault Smarteam/Enovia are highly desired.

  • Working knowledge of ICAM, Pworks, NIT, and IMS post processors.

  • Experience with Thirdwave Productions module or Vericut Force optimization suite also desired.

Position Summary: The NC Technician will perform multiple tasks under supervision in a manufacturing environment. Tasks will include up to, and including dismantling of machines and equipment, inspection and detection of wear items, and other malignant problems. Tasks will be assigned in manufacturing areas as well as office areas. This position typically requires 3 years of NC Technician experience. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: * Technician should have experience with Acromatic 950 controls, Fanuc 15i and 30i controls, Haas controls, and Siemens 840D controls. * Technician is expected to be able to troubleshoot to component level. * Should be able to dismantle equipment to the origin point of issue. * Should be able to inspect and measure parts of equipment to detect wear, misalignment, etc. * Must be capable of analyzing the situation before starting the job. * Follow safety guidelines at all times. Required Skills: * Should have knowledge on drives, motors, controls, and electrical components. * Should have tools needed to perform troubleshooting and diagnosing of issues. (Voltage Meter, Clamp on amp meter, general hand tools, etc. * Ability to follow written and oral instructions. * Working ability with general hand tools. * Must have the ability to lift a maximum of 35 lbs. unassisted.
