The Navy Project Manager is responsible for the sales order quotation and contract management process for new build or major projects and ensuring that all accepted order/project requirements are met by interfacing as required with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Engineered to Order (ETO) and Projects pricing and lead time, interacting with other functions as needed

  • Focus on response time management - develop KPI's, measure gaps, develop countermeasures to close gaps and produce/improve output and results.

  • Perform project win loss analysis and drive continuous improvement

  • Review bid packages and provide support for project negotiations

  • Develop comprehensive sizing and selection recommendations along with pricing recommendations

  • Provide support to the sales team to enable them to answer customer inquiries regarding technical contract provisions, interpretations, and modifications

  • Provide technical support for client and third party visitations

  • Review and clarify order requirements

  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, customer focused team environment

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Engineering or other technical degree preferred

  • Must be US Citizen due to US Navy contractual requirements.

  • Five years of relevant experience (project management, product selection, application, quotation, contract administration etc.)

  • Familiarity with mil specs and government contracts strongly preferred

  • Technical knowledge of valves and valve products or other technical, highly engineered products a plus

  • Demonstrated proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Above average oral and written communications, as well as interpersonal skills.

May manage project and/or program managers within assigned program and/or project. Accountabilities * Lead the transfer and support of Cardinal Health Products and processes to Contract Manufacturing sites * Work as a team member with the Quality, R&D, Sustaining Engineering, Procurement, Marketing and Regulatory organizations to ensure successful transfer and ongoing production of finished medical devices at Contract Manufacturers * Demonstrate the ability to deliver quality, innovative, cost-effective and timely solutions in a multiple project environment. * Ensure manufacturing processes adequately demonstrate specified process control capabilities * Provide technical support and guidance to Contract Manufacturer for engineering issues * Ensure adherence to product specifications, industry standards and quality and regulatory procedures and requirements. * Support process verification and validation testing activities. * Assist with selection and qualification of new materials and suppliers * Familiar with all technical aspects of the ECO process into the Global Sourcing organization * Manage localization activities with Contract Manufacturing and Sustaining Engineering * Specify and procure capital in the support of manufacturing and test processes Qualifications * B.S. in Engineering, Manufacturing, or another technical field preferred * 6+ years of experience working in medical device manufacturing preferred * Ability to lead team toward operational objectives * Aptitude to contribute to strategic goal-setting for department/business unit What is expected of you and others at this level * Applies advanced knowledge and understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to manage a wide variety of projects * Participates in the development of policies and procedures to achieve specific goals * Recommends new practices, processes, metrics, or models * Works on or may lead complex projects of large scope * Projects may have significant and long-term impact * Provides solutions which may set precedent * Independently determines method for completion of new projects * Receives guidance on overall project objectives * Acts as a mentor to less experienced colleagues * Candidate must have the ability to work independently and be able to communicate effectively with team members * Ability to meet at off hours to support of Contract Manufacturers located across the globe with global time zone differences * Ability to travel up to 25% Cardinal Health is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
