Oasis Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Navy AN/SPS-73 Radar Technician located in Virginia Beach, VA. Provinding technical support on AN/SPS-73 and other navigation radar systems.

JOB STATUS: Full Time
TRAVEL: Less than 10%
Practical experience maintaining and troubleshooting shipboard radar systems in general (required) and AN/SPS-73 radar in particular (highly desired)
Practical experience with training, preventative maintenance, use of technical documentation, parts support, technical reports and documenting maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
Familiar with shipboard safety procedures including electrical safety, electrical tag-outs, working aloft procedures, hazardous material handling and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Working knowledge of Change Requests & Engineering Change Proposals.
Familiar with Navy Logistics Support elements including configuration management, onboard allowance and supply support.
Familiar with the US Navy installation planning process (desired).
Interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills
Personal computer skills (competent with MS Office applications).
EDUCATION: Associates Degree in technical field/technical certification/or SPS-73 Navy NEC
EXPERIENCE LEVEL: 4 years minimum experience required/ 5-10 years' experience preferred
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS: US Citizens only
The candidate will provide assistance to ships force in maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation of the AN/SPS-73 radar. He/she will document results of maintenance, troubleshooting and problem resolution actions and provide distance support and/or shipboard troubleshooting for fleet CASREPs and requests for technical assistance. In addition, the candidate will perform the following functions:
Support engineering efforts related to design, testing and analysis of AN/SPS-73 radar upgrades or modifications
Support technical documentation upgrades or modifications required as a result of system improvements
Install Field Changes in accordance with Navy shipboard installation processes
Assist in the development of Ship Installation Drawings (SIDs) and Ship Alteration Records (SAR), which reflect system installation plans and configurations
Prepare lab and classrooms spaces in support of radar upgrades (new acquisition and legacy systems) and modifications
Act as liaison with Regional Maintenance Centers to ensure proper processing of installation data and schedule requirements necessary for the unimpeded check-in processing of Alteration Installation Teams (AITs)
Perform post-installation System Operational Verification Test (SOVT) and On-the-Job Training (OJT)
