WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Natural Resource Specialist 1 - FFR Forester
ODF is looking for a FFR Forester to accomplish work on Federal lands under Good Neighbor Authority agreements, assist with grant implementation, and provide assistance to Klamath-Lake District foresters as needed. This position will assist the Unit Forester to help USFS and BLM in accomplishing their management goals including but not limited to forestry services, timber sale planning, timber sale preparation, and restoration service projects.
Natural Resource Specialist 1 - Marketing Forester
ODF is looking for a Marketing Forester to manage timber sales and intensive forest management projects from planning to completion on state lands. This position will also assist with the implementation of the GNA program. This will entail the layout, cruise and contact prep of timber sales located on USFS lands.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelor's degree in forestry or any natural resource area.
OR-
Three years of experience in Forestry or any natural resource program area and level of responsibility.
Note:
FFT2 and S-212 courses are required to be completed in the first 6 months of employment.

Basic knowledge of the theory of natural resource conservation, management, protection, utilization, or control.

Experience communicating verbally and in writing with a variety of people to answer questions and explain information.
Experience writing clear and concise status, summary, technical, or narrative reports.
Basic knowledge of logging systems, dendrology, forest mensuration, spatial mapping, and forestry road layout.
