Join our team in the growing Natural Gas Construction Industry! We are looking for hard-working, motivated individuals to a build a career with us.

Vector is seeking two (2) Natural Gas Pipeline Welders to perform pipeline welding, construction services, and maintenance activities for owners and operators of natural gas across Montana. The job will encompass various aspects of natural gas requirements, to include welding, construction, repairs, and field services such as leak surveys and valve inspections. Work is mostly performed outside and must conform to the strict requirements of state and pipeline safety regulations and company procedures. The individual will be responsible for tasks including, but not limited to:

  • Steel Pipe Welding (minimum of 2 years experience)
  • Pipeline construction, including service lines, mains, and intrastate transmission lines
  • Hours - 40 to 50 hours per week
  • Work covers most of Montana but mostly have been in and around the Livingston and Bozeman markets
  • Union position
  • $40.00 to 45.00 per hour, plus subsistence of $60 per day


  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Must be able to pass NWEs certification test
  • Able to work independently and within a crew setting
  • Able to work with minimal supervision or assistance from others
  • Possess good written and verbal communication skills
  • Physically prepared for hands on job tasks in all types of weather conditions
  • Able to pass initial and continuous federally required Operator Qualification evaluations
  • Able to effectively operate various company supplied equipment
  • Willingness to travel, including overnight stays
  • Experience with natural gas industry highly preferred
  • Experience welding on live natural gas pipelines is required
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere through effective interactions and communications with co-workers
  • Must possess a valid drivers license and a good driving record
  • Able to pass a background and driving check, employment history, and drug screening
