Job Summary:

Accountable for delivering sustainable and profitable sales growth and market share in the Flooring segment, Home Center segment and Specialty accounts. Responsible for identifying and providing effective solutions to realize sales opportunities along with the implementation of products, programs and services. In addition, lead, manage and develop direct reports, focused on the Floor Distribution segment. Ensure best practices and effective solutions are used in the delivery of our products, programs, services, resulting in profitable sales growth through the channels and accounts mentioned above.

Home Center Sales:

  • Sell in Insl-x products to Home Centers

  • Sell in the Programs, Promotions & Services to support the diversified brands' strategy

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with brand standards

  • Flooring Distributors

  • Responsible for increased profitable sales through Distributor channels

  • Open new points of Distribution

  • Recommend portfolio needs and help develop promotional materials

  • Daily management, coaching and mentoring of Floor Specialist Sales team

Specialty Accounts:

  • Responsible for increased profitable sales to OEM and Specialty accounts

  • Sell in of additional products, programs and services that will increase market share

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with brand standards

Management:

  • Manage performance and daily activities through personal involvement ensuring sales and market share growth

  • Construct and execute local plans, timelines & milestones that support company initiatives and challenging goals while ensuring optimal market alignment of field efforts and programs that best impact the bottom line in the local market area

  • Monitor and manage allocated resources and budgets in a profit conscious manner with responsiveness to the need for economies and cost controls

  • Conduct consistent analysis of quantitative results and document effectiveness and performance utilizing the on-line Performance Management System

  • Proactively solicit and communicate pertinent information including market trends and competitive information between the field, HQ, customers, end-users and vendors

  • Ensure compliance with company programs, merchandising, brand standards & safety

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's college degree required, advanced degree preferred

  • 10 plus years' relevant work experience

  • Strong PC skills including the Microsoft Office Suite; primarily Excel and Word

  • Experience in developing successful programs that will enhance sales

  • Demonstrated effective leadership of a sales team

  • Ability to analyze, develop, propose, and communicate strategies that will help the organization be more effective, competitive, or otherwise achieve its goals

  • Ability to skillfully negotiate in such a way that creative solutions are developed to satisfy all parties

  • Ability to assess multiple tasks and develop a plan to complete them in a logical and efficient manner

  • Ability to act in a self-confident manner to facilitate completion of a work assignment or to defend a position or idea

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Ability to gain others' support for ideas, proposals, projects, and solutions

  • Ability to learn and retain product, application, program & competitive information

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and CRM

  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record

  • Willingness & ability to travel (in the field with team 70% and up to 50% overnights) & work evenings/nights

Preferred: * Consumer Packaging experience desired but not required. * Comfortable in a complex sales environment; variable pricing environment experience and contract acumen required. * Effective economic thinking skills with the ability to apply concepts such as opportunity cost, competitive advantage, comparative advantage, switching cost, and next best alternative. * Ability to create key account plans and execute against them. * Competitive mentality - must enjoy the thrill of pursuing business and closing new accounts. * Strong communication skills and excellent organizational skills. * Ability to work well independently, energetic self-starter with a strong work ethic.
