The incumbent is responsible for new business development with prospective customers with transportation spends of $30MM+. Matches customers' transportation/logistics needs with J.B. Hunt's solutions. Partners with internal partners to implement new business.

Job Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identifies and prequalifies new opportunities by understanding/consulting prospective customers with transportation spend of at least $30MM

  • Partner with National Account Management to devise proper new business development strategy.

  • Conduct on-site visits with prospective customers.

  • Collect and analyze information regarding the customer's transportation requirements, lanes, inbound and outbound, pricing and logistics, and determine solutions that best meet the customer's needs.

  • Close new business opportunities that align with strategic growth plan.

  • Coordinate with Customer Experience and Operations teams to implement new business.

  • Initiate and execute the transition of accounts to National Account Management team once transportation spend threshold is met.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Four-year college degree and seven years of transportation/logistics experience, including two years in sales; or nine years of transportation/logistics experience, including two years in sales; or comparable combination of education, experience, and training.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE and ABILITIES

  • Travel greater than or equal to 50%.
