We are looking for a National Proposal Specialist to join our National Office in Springfield, MO.

This role will manage and write proposal projects within the firm's growing centralized proposal department. The position requires a professional with excellent oral and written communication skills, proven project management experience, keen knowledge of Microsoft Office software and the ability to quickly learn new software applications. Dedication to providing unmatched client service is paramount.

  • Gain and apply a thorough understanding of the firm's service lines and industry groups to produce concise, persuasive and client-centered proposal documents

  • Discuss, collaborate and synthesize recommendations with key client service personnel to summarize the nature of the opportunity and the business issues the client is facing

  • Assume ownership in developing solutions, insights, win themes and firm differentiators

  • Meet proposal deadlines by establishing project milestones for the management of full circle proposal production process, including Request for Proposals (RFP) and prequalification documents

  • Write, edit, proofread and format proposals and other related materials to mitigate risk and ensure accuracy, quality assurance, clarity and consistency of documents

  • Maintain consistent interaction with Proposal Content Team, legal department and others as needed, to effectively comply and respond to RFP requirement

  • Solve practical problems and effectively manage a variety of variables in situations where standardization exists

  • Consistently meet multiple deadlines throughout each day


  • Bachelor's degree preferred in English, journalism, communications, marketing or other related area. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 5 years of comparable experience is preferred.

  • 3+ years relevant writing and project management experience preferred, however, less experience would be considered. Experience in professional services industry a plus.

  • Excellent project management, writing, editing, proofreading and organizational skills

  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining quality control consciousness and a sharp eye for detail in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment

  • Self-motivation and commitment to work on tight deadlines while quickly adjusting to changing expectations and requirements

  • Resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and accuracy

  • Ability to work independently and in a dynamic team environment

  • Action oriented, positive, patient individual with great business judgment and critical thinking skills

  • Proactive self-starter who is an enthusiastic team player and customer service-focused

  • Effective listener who builds quick rapport and nurtures internal relationships with a diverse audience of firm leaders

Specifically, this position will be the primary individual to process all miscellaneous tax filings to include tire and battery tax returns, liquor tax returns miscellaneous business tax returns and yearly property tax returns. In addition, this position will assist in processing payment for existing license renewals, researching licensing needs for existing and/or new locations, and maintaining entity compliance with respective Secretary of State offices. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * This position will facilitate all miscellaneous monthly and quarterly tax return filings to include tire and battery tax, liquor tax, business tax and additional returns. This position will also assist in the annual filing of personal property tax returns. 40% * This position will be responsible for payment processing of all license renewals within the central license database to include the facilitation of check requests, AP payment, remittance and soft copy retention. This will also include the scan and uploading of hard copy licenses once received, as well as maintaining accurate information on an individual license basis to include category of license and expiration date within the centralized license database. 30% * This position will act as the primary facilitator of all annual entity reporting with State Offices. They will assist the Legal Department staff in supplying and maintaining annual reports for all legal entities. The position will also be responsible for any new business tax registrations. 10% * This position will act as primary researcher for licensing requirements and/or implications when new locations are proposed or existing locations and/or products are updated Responsibility. 10% * This position will maintain scanned tax returns, license renewal payments, original licenses, annual reports and any other pertinent documentation into the existing soft copy files. 10% * ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma Preferred Degree: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting Experience: 2 years of experience KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY: * Accounting experience and/or class work strongly preferred. * Must be highly organized and able to manage and facilitate multiple tasks, all driven by deadlines. * Must possess strong computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Excel. * Must maintain accurate soft copy file documentation. * Must possess favorable people skills with ability to navigate complex requests and/or tasks. * Must be trustworthy and display extreme confidentiality on all levels.
