Who you are:

What you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) with a strong business acumen.

  • At least 10 years of experience in the valuation of intangible and tangible assets for tax and financial reporting purposes.

  • Expertise with U.S. GAAP and IFRS financial reporting requirements.

  • Proven ability to develop new business and support existing relationships with REITs and institutional clients.

Such responsibilities primarily include regulatory reporting, SEC filings, Earnings Releases and other investor/board reporting. Individual will also be involved in corporate monthly accounting close, consolidation and related reporting responsibilities, as well as technical accounting research and other ad hoc projects and analysis to support management. Individual will work closely with and support Finance and Accounting leadership and each line of business to anticipate and promptly respond to assigned financial accounting and reporting needs, as well as ensure compliance with all policies and procedures. Essential Functions Lead internal efforts regarding periodic data collection and consolidation efforts used to populate various SEC and regulatory filings, including update of certain holding company data requirements Prepares numerous disclosures included in annual and interim SEC filings, including documentation supporting consolidation of disclosure and internal control. Assist with preparation and ensure accuracy of all SEC and other regulatory filings, including but not limited to 10Q, 10K, 8K, Earnings Release, Investor Presentation, debt/equity offerings and financial institution regulatory reports (FR Y-9C, FR Y-9LP, call reports, etc.) Ensure compliance with all applicable SEC and various financial institution disclosure requirements Analyzes and reports on variances between parent holding company results and budget Work with others within Finance organization on evaluation of accounting and reporting implications associated with the adoption of new technical accounting pronouncements Assess financial reporting effects of new business initiatives, contracts and complex transactions, including identification and evaluation of potential risks and implications Provide recommendations regarding existing and new disclosures within periodic SEC and regulatory filings Responsible for monthly reconciliation of stockholders' equity rollforward activity to applicable general ledger accounts (common stock, APIC, etc.) Involved in corporate accounting executive dashboard reporting Maintain existing internal controls over financial reporting and work with others in organization to periodically review, improve and update key processes and related control descriptions Work closely with external auditors and banking regulators Develop internal and external relationships to ensure understanding of SEC and regulatory issuances that may impact financial institutions, including banking, mortgage and investment advisory industries Assist with various ad hoc projects and analysis to support colleagues and management Job Requirements * Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (Master's preferred) * CPA preferred * Minimum of 3 years of progressively challenging accounting experience, preferably in a public accounting firm and/or public company environment * Strong knowledge of SEC reporting and US GAAP concepts/theories * Strong PC skills, including word processing and spreadsheets via Microsoft Office products as well as various business solution and custom applications, systems and software. Must have the ability to learn and utilize custom systems and applications. * Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills * Strong time management, organizational and problem-solving skills * Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives.
