This opportunity is based in our Lexington, KY office but offers flexibility to work from home part of the work week.

JOB SUMMARY

The National Meetings and Membership Associate will provide day-to-day coordination for the department. Under the direction of the Assistant Director, National Meetings and Membership, the role will manage a variety of departmental functions to ensure the flow and success of the department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for managing and coordinating the day-to-day functions and operations of the National Meetings and Membership Department, including daily activities, scheduling and departmental operations.

  • Manages the department inventory, supplies and materials.

  • Responsible for providing technical and logistical support for national meetings including preparing contracts for review, preparing documents for hotels and venues, room blocks, scheduling, onsite and department coordination for the national conference and other meetings.

  • Timely execution of updating internal databases and systems ensuring accuracy and consistency in data collection, analysis, and reporting.

  • Act as a CSG ambassador at conferences and meetings, engaging with members and staff to foster an understanding of the organization's mission and values.

  • Provide essential on-the-ground and in-office coordination for the Assistant Director, National Meetings and Membership and team during travel, including meeting planning, logistics and scheduling, to ensure that all necessary aspects of meetings and events are well organized and at the quality standards of the organization.

  • Closely work will colleagues across the organization to streamline the daily functions of the department.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and competence to work effectively with a myriad of leaders, including internal departments, funders and interested stakeholders.

  • Experience using databases and project management systems.

  • Superior organizational skills and judgement, with the ability to independently manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and meeting established deadlines.

  • Able to maintain confidentiality and handle politically sensitive work.

  • Self-motivated, able to take initiative and see complex tasks through to completion.

  • Ability to interact effectively with diverse people in different contexts and foster equity and inclusion through self-awareness, cultural sensitivity, and valuing others.

  • Dedication to public service with an unfailing commitment to act with civility, be nonpartisan in performing CSG duties, and be a responsible steward of member and donor funds.

  • Ability to travel.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in professional research, event planning and customer service.

  • Must possess excellent writing and technology skills.

COMPENSATION

CSG believes that pay equity and pay transparency advance workplace fairness. Compensation will be equitable and based on experience. The salary range for this position, based in Lexington, KY is $45,000 to $55,000. This salary range is subject to change based on work location and market conditions.
