To learn more, visit POSITION OVERVIEW LIFT is seeking an Events Coordinator for its growing national development team.
The Events Coordinator will support national and regional fundraising efforts by overseeing LIFT event-related activities, including: coordinating logistics for all fundraising events and donor meetings; tracking event data and analytics; maintaining event calendars; managing vendors, event attendance and volunteers; and undertaking administrative duties related to events.
Reporting to the Development Director, the Events Coordinator role provides an exciting opportunity for an emerging development professional to grow his or her skills in a dynamic and nimble workplace.
AS AN EVENTS COORDINATOR, YOU WILL: Manage development-related event coordination: planning, facility and equipment booking, vendor management, event logistics, and day-of-event coordination including; set-up and volunteer management Lead volunteer recruitment, selection, and training and develop event staffing plan Communicate important updates to presenters and attendees Coordinate presenter and attendee travel and lodging including hotel blocks as needed Help track event timeline and budget Support the accurate and timely processing of gift acknowledgement letters for all event fundraising Help track sponsor commitments via SalesForce Assist with organizations fundraising efforts including; invitations, outbound calls, mail correspondences, and email campaign letters Work with designers to develop collateral for events (invites, signage, pamphlets, delight factors, etc.) Reconcile event revenue with LIFTs finance team Travel as-needed to LIFT sites to support the execution of events (10% of time) OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE You have one-two years of experience coordinating events You have experience with fundraising and or nonprofit events You have experience using Salesforce or a donor management system (strongly preferred). You have a track record of being customer service oriented.

You are highly detail-oriented and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

You are a high-functioning teammate and excel at working collaboratively.

The Event Coordinator will report to the Senior Customer Success Manager and will be located in Washington, DC. The Event Coordinator's primary responsibility is to assist and manage company in-person events, webinars and virtual conferences and ensure all events (in-person and virtual) are carried out above and beyond expectations. What you get to do: * Assist with negotiations for space contracts and book event space, arrange food and beverage, order supplies and audiovisual equipment, make travel arrangements, order event signs, and ensure appropriate materials are available on-site to meet the quality expectations of our community. * Assist with managing on-site production and clean up for events as necessary. * Prepare nametags, materials, notebooks, packages, gift bags, registration lists, seating cards, etc for in person events. * Assist with scheduling and executing virtual webinars/summits, coordinating the overall webinar development and logistics with internal staff, sponsors, and presenters. * Perform editorial oversight with respect to webinar presentation materials submitted by speakers; review materials for clarity, effectiveness, and utility by webinar attendees; and, in consultation with speaker, integrate relevant content assets, tools and resources into seminar materials to reinforce learning and add value to the final product. * Facilitate live programs and monitor audience questions and follow up on post-seminar audience questions and comments. * Propose new ideas to improve the event planning and implementation process. * Serve as liaison with vendors on event-related matters. * Coordinate appointments and visits to see new locations, and scheduling of events on the calendar. Skills/Requirements What we need in you: * Excellent communication skills, including writing, proof reading skills, and speaking. * Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments. * Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone, with high professionalism. * Ability to accomplish projects with little supervision. * Eagerness to learn and assume responsibility; seek out and accepts increased responsibility; proactively works to improve all events and internal processes * Exceptional customer service ethic and high expectations for quality. * Ability to quickly evaluate and edit content, structure, and format of a range of seminar presentation materials. * Fast learner with ability to quickly assess a situation, and make decisions with independent judgment to answer questions and resolve problems. * Bachelor's degree preferred; significant work experience can substitute for the degree. * Proficient using the latest versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and mail merges; email and web searches.
