In this role, you'll use your knowledge, analytical, and negotiation skills to help develop strategy and provide member access. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform network analysis and strategy development and implementation

  • Drive program design and implementation to improve quality and affordability through improvements in appropriateness and effectiveness

  • Obtain, validate and analyze data as you analyze network availability and access

  • Recommend utilization or expansion of networks for various products

  • Serve as a key resource on complex and/or critical issues

  • Assist in the development of alternative payment models

  • Develop contracting strategy for key national provider partners

  • Negotiate and implement national provider contracts

This is an opportunity to truly challenge yourself. You'll work on many different aspects of Provider Networks in this role including manipulating and analyzing data, negotiating with provider groups and facilities, managing projects, educating providers and navigating any issues with other teams such as sales, consulting or clinical.

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience

  • 3 years of experience in contract negotiation

  • Proficiency with all facility/ancillary/outpatient contract reimbursement methodologies

  • 3 years of experience with contract submission, validation and maintenance

  • Strong knowledge of business processes that impact facility/ancillary/outpatient contact loading and auditing

  • Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint

  • If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas. In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders
