The Job/What You'll Do:

As a National Consultant for the leading provider of holistic support for independent financial advisors, you'll join an elite sales team vital to successfully creating and managing relationships with advisors committed to meeting their client's financial wellness needs. In this high-profile role, you'll focus on uncovering, cultivating, and retaining the sales opportunities which represent the biggest impact to your territory.

National Consultants receive an actively producing book of business, comprised of financial advisors who are already engaging with AssetMark and who are focused on growing their businesses through various resources and initiatives provided on the AssetMark platform. You will be provided capabilities, products, ideas, and support to enable you to inspire your relationships to become the most impactful financial advisors they can be within their communities. As part of an entrepreneurial team in this rapidly growing industry, you will help shape the future of Advisors services through the innovative power of offering. The National Consultant will be based in Chicago, Phoenix, or Encino and will have a hybrid work schedule of in-office and working from home. Expected travel to company and territory events is 30% for this position.

We can consider candidates for this position who are able to accommodate a hybrid work schedule and are close to our office locations in Phoenix, AZ, Encino, CA, Concord, CA, or Chicago, IL.

Responsibilities:

  • Educate, advise, and consult with advisors on the AssetMark platform's investment, service, business consulting, and client relationship offerings

  • Promote growth in sales production with the existing advisor base by identifying additional advisor needs and opportunities

  • Demonstrate expertise in consulting with advisors on portfolio construction and investment product details both conceptually and specifically during point-of-sale interactions

  • Cultivate an ongoing consultative relationship with top advisors.

  • Develop creative re-engagement prospecting campaigns and win assets from advisors who have not recently done business

  • Leverage corporate and regional events to encourage face-to-face interaction with yourself as the advisor's consultative business partner

  • Collaborate within an ensemble team of salespeople within the territory to develop best practices & initiatives specific to your geographical area

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Consultative sales approach

  • History of success in previous roles while exceeding personal & sales goals

  • Territory management skills

  • Problem-solving skills

  • Ability to communicate and sell over the phone, by email, and in person

  • Time management and organizational skills

  • Ability to partner with a team

  • A self-starter who takes initiative and can work independently

  • Experience selling managed money platforms

  • Prior Salesforce.com experience

Education & Experience:

  • BA or BS (4-year degree)

  • 4+ years of experience in the financial services industry

  • 2+ years in the AssetMark Regional Consultant, National Consultant, Business Development Consultant, or Sales Consultant Role

  • Experience in face-to-face and phone-based sales

  • Extensive public speaking experience

  • FINRA licenses required: SIE, Series 6, 63, and 65 or Series 7 and 66

Compensation: The Base Salary range for this position is between $50,000-$60,000.

This information reflects a base salary range that AssetMark reasonably expects to pay for the position based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and actual work location. This position will also be eligible for a comprehensive sales incentive package and competitive benefits.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US to be considered. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.
