General Summary
This position is responsible for collaborating with business units, nationally, to develop and execute supply strategies for liquid asphalt that provide a competitive and stable supply consistent with company strategies, risk management objectives and corporate policies.
Essential Job Accountabilities
Secure liquid asphalt supply (provide advisory services for business units to secure or negotiate volume, price, payment terms, etc.) consistent with corporate strategies and forecasts.
Collaborate with management, secure supply, provide advisory services for business units to secure or negotiate volume, price, payment terms, etc. for Asphalt and Emulsion (A&E) managed supply, consistent with strategies and forecasts, price supply to the branches when necessary, and manage long/short position to ensure competitive, stable supply.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key liquid asphalt suppliers to enable execution of our strategies
Develop and maintain a strong understanding of liquid asphalt supply and demand fundamentals, and industry, to enable excellent spend decisions and job bid advice
Regularly conduct national market research, on liquid asphalt supply/demand, to ensure the company's liquid asphalt strategy is relevant to market conditions
Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with internal customers (business unit personnel, accounting, etc.) evidenced by consistent positive customer feedback upholding company polices.
In conjunction with each business unit, develop, implement, manage and modify annual liquid asphalt supply strategy to enable excellent spend decisions
Lead the development and implementation of liquid asphalt storage strategy to secure advantaged supply
Education
Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering or related area
Master's degree a plus
Work Experience
7+ years of residual hydrocarbon experience
Asphalt supply and/or construction industry experience preferred
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to understand risks and provide creative solutions to real-time challenges
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work well with others and build consensus
Ability to establish processes/procedures and properly manage and prioritize resources and projects
Team player, with strong leadership skills, who can operate effectively within a matrix management environment
Strong consultative and communication skills and ability to interface effectively with all levels of internal and external customers and suppliers
Ability to work in high production environment and respond quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlines
Proven proficiency of MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively disseminate information
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to operate a computer keyboard. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. Subject to outside working conditions and at times will be working around large construction equipment. Base Salary Range:
$159,249.00 - $238,873.00
Pay may vary based upon relevant experience, skills, location, and education among other factors.
