PQ Corporation, a leading worldwide producer of inorganic specialty chemicals and catalysts has an immediate need for National Accounts Manager for US and Canada. The National Accounts Manager's primary function is to manage and grow commercial relationship (sales, contracts, forecasting demand/supply needs) of PQ NA Silicates key account customers. Responsible for management and growth of a large account base, developing matrix relationships across the respective organizations while developing new opportunities within key market segments in NA. Prospective candidate can be home based with moderate to high level of travel requirements, preferably located in the Chicago, PQ Corp Malvern PA or the Mid-Atlantic Region.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing a large sales territory with multiple accounts, developing and execute key account management programs, and developing cross-functional relationships throughout the respective organizations. Candidate should be used to dealing with technical/chemical based products, particularly inorganic materials. He/She will be responsible for coordinating activities, developing and negotiating contracts and comfortable working in a wide array of corporate environments. Candidate will need:

  • Build strong commercial relationships across the functions and levels with the customer organization with the aim of optimizing both short term and long-term profitability and performance

  • Create, manage and maintain excellent relationships across all functions and levels with customers and within PQ in order to successfully sell solutions that require support & approval from multiple constituents in the respective organization

  • Manage pipeline of existing and new sales opportunities/projects to deliver upon growth targets.

  • Manage ongoing base business and growth programs at customers including negotiation of volume, pricing and supply commitments. Coordinate activities with functional groups including Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain and Finance

  • Negotiate and manage complex agreements with customers; examples include Supply Agreements, Confidentiality Agreements, and Joint Development Agreements

  • Responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual forecasting of customer orders in order to ensure order to cash processes work efficiently and all customer orders are fulfilled

Position will have direct interface with PQ Corporate Business Managers responsible for the respective product portfolios. Responsibilities will include customers primarily in US and Canada but with some global responsibilities.

Job Requirements

To qualify for this position candidates must possess:

  • B. S. Degree in Business, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or equivalent.

  • 5+ years sales/marketing experience in Chemical's industry, Inorganics preferred.

  • Strong listening and interpersonal skills needed to determine customer needs and business opportunities

  • Must be a self-motivated, results oriented, strong business acumen and proactive to operate independently as well as on a team, and able to adjust priorities to meet business goals.

  • Demonstrate a positive approach to collaboration and problem solving, both internally, and in customer engagements.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.

  • Strong analytical skills needed to analyze territory sales data and technical information.

  • Up to 50% travel.

QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's Degree preferred. * Minimum of 2 years experience in a large volume food establishment including banquets, buffets and specialty outlets preferred. * Culinary expertise in multiple specialties is preferred. * Must possess exemplary customer service, written/verbal communication, interpersonal and managerial skills. * Knowledge of all phases of food administration, cost controls and administration is preferred. * must meet Harrah's Joliet transfer eligibility requirements.
