Purpose of Role:

The purpose of this role is to prospect and grow existing partnerships with national organizations, major government, insurance, financial institutions, and other SIC groups to achieve sales plan. This is accomplished through developing short and long term sales strategies, negotiating and executing contracts, utilizing multiple sales channels, and implementing rebate programs. Additionally, the National Account Manager works closely with the ProSales team (Regional ProSales Directors, ProSales Managers, and ProSales Desk team) to drive profitable sales through the Pro customer.

Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a single point of contact for Pro customers, to address gaps in the partnership (ie, service, product availability, marketing, etc.) and develop solutions in partnership with the Regional ProSales Directors, ProSales Managers, and ProSales desk.

  • Leads the development of short and long term sales strategies to drive profitable sales of their respective portfolio.

  • Educates the Pro Sales team on the execution of sales strategies, marketing initiatives, and contracts.

  • Utilizes industry and customer data to identify potential new customers, develop business proposals, and sales strategies.

  • Develops product opportunities and solutions that have a national impact for Pro customers resulting in bulk purchase agreements.

  • Monitors growth of sales portfolio, adjusting as necessary to continue to drive profitable sales and increase market share.

  • Works closely with the leadership and Legal team to develop contracts and sales structures that are mutually beneficial for Lowe's and the Pro customer.

  • Provides recommendations to leadership on promotional opportunities based on market, industry, and customer data.

Required Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma
  • 5-7 years of experience directing customer sales, sales and account management, and P/L

Preferred Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field.

Job Summary The Sr. National Account Manager will support all activities related to sales and relationship growth for our Home and Garden business with Lowe's Home Improvement. This will include strategy development, presentation creation, analysis, forecasting and tactical preparation related to calls and events. The position is located in Mooresville North Carolina, working daily in the Spectrum Brands Platform office with some travel into markets and St. Louis to drive the business. Primary Duties & Responsibilities * Assist in developing sales strategies, programs, and plans that will maximize Spectrum Brands revenue and profitability. * Help identify opportunities from within the existing Spectrum Brands line that will achieve the "best practice" scenario and recommend additions. * Build and closely manage relationships at the buyer level and beyond, to create or enhance the partnership. * Assist in development of annual quotas, profit plans and sales action plans; monitor actual results vs. plan throughout the year, making adjustments when appropriate. * Provide Manager with regular summaries of performance vs. prior period. * Learn the business, and the needs of the customer to become the expert in the Home and Garden category. Learn and communicate the retailer's needs, strategies, and objectives. Use this expertise to build the Home & Garden business within Lowe's. * Learn and utilize Category Management and Fact-Based Selling concepts to strengthen existing business and gain new opportunities. * Work with consumer, store personnel and marketing to identify and evaluate new product ideas. * Build and deliver retailer specific presentations for Line Reviews, Programs, Seasonal updates, etc. * Identify and communicate Retail Service requirements based on changing market conditions to meet account service and sales goals. * Assist in development of unique, account-specific promotional plans that will maximize sales. Coordinating with finance, trade marketing, marketing and sales management to align with brand strategies and advertising plans as appropriate. * Use data analysis (Market data, Store Level POS, etc.) to assist in the coordination of off shelf promotional plans & display allocation suggestions. * Evaluate the performance of all promotions including those from our competitors. * Assist in accurate and timely forecasting and work with Forecasting/Demand Planning to guarantee on-time delivery Education and Experience Profile An equivalent combination of: * Bachelor's degree in Business or related discipline preferred but not required * 7+ years in retail field sales and direct account responsibility * 3 years specific knowledge of selling to Lowe's is preferred * Experience working with data or category management preferred Required Skills * High level of organizational skills * Excellent presentation skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization and customer organization * Strong analytical skills; ability to learn and use data to forecast trends and projections and analyze the effectiveness of promotional activity * Solid tactical and strategic abilities; ability to manage multiple tasks * Strong customer focus * Teamwork approach to accomplishing goals * Strong PC skills (spreadsheet, word processing, presentations) * Some travel required Work Environment * Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
