The National Account Manager I is responsible for successful development and execution of sales strategies to increase revenue and margin with national customers (Top 100 National Landscapers) Universities and Municipalities for the Mean Green product line. The employee is accountable for a portfolio of established accounts; and incentivized for incremental business with new customers in the assigned vertical. This is an external-facing role, which requires engagement at all levels in the customer organization: C-level, Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Engineering, Project Management, Field Operations, etc. The employee is expected to collaborate with internal cross-functional partners to deliver both strategic and tactical outcomes, which may include strategic framework agreements, annual volume forecasts, and day-to-day troubleshooting. The role represents the full range of Mean Green products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements strategic sales plan focused on growing sales.

  • Develops accurate and detailed metrics to facilitate effective business forecasting and resource allocation.

  • Forecasts, develops, manages, and achieves budget.

  • Analyzes and reviews sales trends to identify opportunities and threats.

  • Manages and grows P&L.

  • Achieves contribution margin target.

  • Works with the Marketing Department to develop initiatives and create customer presentation material.

  • Manages promotional opportunities to maximize return on investment.

  • Manages sales pipeline for consistent flow of sales opportunities.

  • Develops broad and deep account relationships.

  • Negotiates and closes contracts.

  • Expands Mean Green's existing business and focuses on ways to expand Mean Green business into new areas.

  • Negotiates placement of new and existing products and programs with current and prospective customers.

  • Drives flawless customer service execution, analyzes the current business and implements new strategies for customer service.

Minimal Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • 3 years of sales or marketing experience working within the outdoor power equipment channel

  • Ability to travel up to 50%

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Excellent presentation skills;

  • Organizational skills;

  • Ability to work independently in an entrepreneurial culture;

  • Ability to analyze financials;

  • Previous business planning, budgeting, and P&L skills.

Physical demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job include are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Travel demands as well.
