POSITION SUMMARY

The NAR/Care Specialist provides direct care to residents to maintain their highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being through quality care.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform nursing care responsibilities, assisting residents with all NAR nursing cares in accordance with care plans and all safety protocols.

  • Maintain efficient practices when responding to resident's needs, maintaining cleanliness of facility, and ensuring equipment upkeep.

  • Assist Nutritional Services staff with serving of meals and enhancing the mealtime experience.

  • Provide assistance and respond to call lights, phone and in-person request for information as needed.

  • Maintain and complete all required documentation and charting on the computer or on forms in an accurate and timely manner according to policies and procedures.

  • Maintain general cleanliness and safety of facility and resident rooms, providing assistance and follow-up with incidents occur.

  • Continually seek opportunities to meet residents' social and psychosocial needs through planned and spontaneous activities, engaging residents in meaningful conversations and facilitating activities as instructed.

  • Support various other Nursing responsibilities as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current certification through Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Nursing assistant experience in a long-term care setting preferred.

  • Heimlich procedure skills preferred.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: 12/04/2020 SHIFT: 7:30am-12pm HOURS: .8AM, including every other weekend WAGE: $13.50-17.50/hour SUMMARY: The Home Health Aide provides personal care and designated health-related services designed to maintain the client's physical and emotional well-being. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1) Assist clients with treatments and/or health related services, as delegated by licensed staff and in accordance with the service plan or plan of care. a. Provide assistance to clients, during scheduled programming, through conversation and re-orientation when appropriate, and assisting with mobility when appropriate. b. Act as an advocate to maintain client privacy and dignity during cares. c. Assist clients with medication administration as delegated by licensed staff and in accordance with Minnesota Home Care Licensure rules. d. Communicate any identified changes involving client promptly to licensed staff. 2) Assist clients with personal care, including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and toileting as instructed. 3) Assist Nutritional Services staff with serving of meals and enhancing the mealtime experience. 4) Maintain appropriate levels of documentation of services as required by licensed staff a. Document all services provided, including client health and personal care. Understand and communicate using specialized medical terminology. 5) Assist with homemaking activities, including general maintenance and cleanliness of facility and apartments. Recognize and act on safety hazards 6) Support various other Homecare responsibilities as needed. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Six months of Home Health Aide or NAR experience preferred.
