Responsibilities

  • Through subordinate activity managers, is responsible for overall management and direction of the Directorate, Morale Welfare and Recreation (DMWR) Support Division at a large garrison.

  • Provides policies and guidance to ensure attainment of the established objectives of the division.

  • Directs, develops, and administers plans and procedures; and implements regulations to ensure functions are carried out in accordance with governing laws, policies, regulations, and professional standards of service.

  • Provides leadership and supervision, and communicates mission and organization goals to subordinates. Applies knowledge of programming, planning, and budgeting and long-range MWR resources.

  • Directs and develops finance and accounting operations through various services to include receipt of, distribution of, and accounting for NAF.

  • Establishes current and long-range program, considering user desires for program/services, mission, strength, and facilities.

  • Serves as the garrison focal point for DMWR Support Management policies and practices. Maintains liaison with off-installation civilian and/or military related social and special service related organizations.

Job Description Candidates for Deployed Systems Support Engineer must be self-motivated and strong communicators. A strong mechanical aptitude is also required. Key functions of the Deployed Systems Support Engineer include technical assistance and training to end users and Contractors, as well as the definition of specifications to engineers. Typical Duties * Conducting system education and training seminars for end users, designers, contractors and others as requested * Continuous training on assigned systems as these items receive updates and enhancements * Assisting end users with the specification of new requirements and capabilities * Assisting end users and contractors with jobsite failure analysis and hands-on work assignments when required. * Constructing and deconstructing tactical communications kits to include hardware, software and configuration of equipment * Maintaining space cleanliness * Following all safety and quality standards, codes and industry best practices * Working at heights in confined spaces * Lifting up to 50 pounds and using appropriate equipment to move heavier items * Operating vehicles, hand tools and test equipment. TS/SCI Clearance Required Education: BS degree in a computer or system science discipline from an accredited college or university and a minimum of fifteen (15) years of direct experience, or a MS degree and thirteen (13) years of direct experience, or Ph.D. degrees and nine (9) years direct experience. Position may require night and weekend work. Physical Requirements: * Climbing, working at heights and in small confined spaces such as under raised floors, inside closets and server racks. Must be able to sit, stoop, kneel or crouch for long periods of time. Work in noisy areas with hotter and colder temperature than standard office environmental conditions. Lift and transport equipment up to 50 pounds. * Extended periods of standing while providing training * Sitting at desk. Phone use and PC or laptop. Filing required.
