Position Specific Description

Engineering Analyst II Circuit Card Lab/Reverse Engineering


This position is responsible for the ordering, organizing and maintaining the acquisition of parts for repaired or Reverse Engineered circuit boards. This position will require the individual to support Engineers and Technicians with general procurement engineering functions, with special emphasis on Item Equivalency Evaluations (IEE), development of associated cost and effective countermeasures. This position requires demonstration of proficiency or ability to learn automated purchasing and materials management computer systems (familiarity and ability to use INDUS Passport/Ventyx Asset Suite is desired).

Candidates must be capable of working independently with minimal supervision and be able to read and comprehend drawings, vendor manuals, technical specifications, and schematics associated with a variety of circuit boards and electronic devices. Candidate must have knowledge of components and be familiar with both thru-hole and surface mount technology. Candidate must possess good communication skills and proper email etiquette and is expected to be able to communicate with various levels of management, site personnel and customers.

Job may include other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Accurately manage parts database.

  • Issuance and allocation of procured components to respective repair technician.

  • Maintain accurate procurement status updates.

  • Provides consistency in application and standardization for procurement engineering evaluations/reviews including classifications, commercial grade dedications, item equivalency evaluations and material analysis wherever possible and appropriate

  • Ensures procured material and services meet the Design Basis by developing and specifying technical and quality procurement Requirements; consult with Design Engineers to ensure that like for like replacements are specified as appropriate in alignment with the design basis for the plant

  • Establish material safety classifications and quality levels by researching design and regulatory documents

  • Establish procurement engineering documents which result in accurate technical and quality information supporting proper procurement and cost savings where appropriate.

  • Maintain plant configuration utilizing or initiating appropriate change document (item equivalency or design change).

  • Perform responsibilities with supervisor oversight


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in related technical field or business field preferred.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills required

  • Demonstrated ability to provide standards, design and functional Requirements

  • Be familiar with electronic component suppliers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Read and comprehend electrical drawings and schematics.

  • Highly Organized.

  • Quick learner

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Evaluates, monitors and conducts trend analyses related to the performance of nuclear systems

  • Troubleshoots systems, performs predictive and root cause analysis, and recommends solutions

  • Follows direction to initiate corrective action processes

  • Conducts and reviews systems surveillance

  • Analyzes preventive maintenance programs of assigned systems

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED

  • Associate's or Equivalent Experience

  • Experience: 5+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's - Engineering

Special Requirements

Nuclear Specific Requirements:

  • Associate's in Engineering, Engineering Technology or equivalent military training/experience

  • Engineering or related technical experience: 5+ years

  • Experience with engineering principles and theories as they relate to Engineering Technology and to power plant systems, components and structures

Nuclear Specific Preferences:

  • Bachelor's in Engineering Technology or related technical discipline
