As a Principal Sales Consultant you will be responsible as the expert for formulating and leading presales technical / functional support activity to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction. Acts as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced Sales Consultants. Focuses on large or complex sales opportunities that need creative and complex solutions. Develops productivity tools and training for other Sales Consultants. Develops and delivers outstanding Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Leads any and all aspects of the technical sales process. Advises internal and external clients on overall architect solutions.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 3 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience. 7 years business experience with relevant computer applications or database/tools. Ability to implement the most advanced product features. Thorough knowledge of system and application design. In depth knowledge of competitors. Demonstrated project management skills. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques. Ability to persuade others through presentations, demonstrations, and written communication. Ability to travel as needed. A/BS degree or equivalent, advanced degree highly desirable.

Roles & Responsibilities:
Serve as a key member of the MySQL Cloud Computing Solutions Architects team focused on helping to drive overall MySQL market and technical strategy.
Educate specific prospects/partners by positioning our value proposition for their business and use case.
Engage with prospects, partners, and key customers on PoC, Health Checks and onsite visits.
Work closely with our sales team to ensure they are successful using our tools and programs, and that they have technical resources and knowledge required for moving forward with opportunities.
Understand the technical requirements of our customers and work closely with the internal product management team to guide the direction of our product offerings for customers.
Handle a high volume of engagements and the fast pace of the cloud computing market.
Experience with account management (Enterprise, SMB and startup) and solution selling ability.
Strong database technical knowledge with ability to go deep enough on technical aspects to differentiate between varied database approaches (relational, non-relational, in-memory, data warehousing, etc.)
Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations is key.
This person will be technical and analytical, and possess significant business development, enterprise sales, or program/product management experience.
Computer Science or Engineering required.
Experience working with MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL and AWS databases.
MBA, Computer Science, and/or Engineering/Math background highly desired; working knowledge of database administration, software development practices and data center / infrastructure / networking technologies highly desired.
Experience working and traveling independently
Experience with public speaking / conferences /meetups
