The Department of Technology, Management and Budget supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services, including building management and maintenance, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems.

This position distributes mail, packages, boxes, materials, and supplies to state government offices in the Lansing area.  Other duties include sorting mail, delivering mail to offices, and picking up from and delivering U.S.

Mail to the U.S. Post Office.

Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Class B or higher required.

Motor Vehicle Operator E6 - Position Description

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: • Knowledge of various types of mail. • Skill at vehicle operation. • Ability to perform manual labor functions such as heavy lifting, pushing, twisting, bending, etc. • Ability to plan and organize for daily assignments. • Ability to work independently.

Persons who operate buses will be required to satisfactorily complete the school bus driver safety course administered by the Michigan Department of Education and to pass, annually, the competency examination.
