Under direct supervision sells and cashes mutuel tickets and vouchers. Operates in direct contact with the wagering public in a courteous and professional manner. Handles wagering on all programs offered during the racing day including but not limited to the live race meet and full card simulcasting. Maintains a cash drawer and is responsible for balancing and any shortage that may occur.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Operates under strict rules and regulations as postulated by the union contract and the policies of Arlington International regarding guest service and money handling.
Operates a mutuel window providing courteous service and conduct with moral and ethical standards. Must refrain from personal wagering.
Uses a teller terminal (ticket issuing machine) and in tandem with a money drawer.
Accepts wagers and operates with due care in issuing the mutuel ticket so that it reflects the correct wager, pool, race, runner and race track.
Handles a player tracking card when presented so that the guest will be credited points for the dollars wagered.
Sells and cashes wagering vouchers for guest use at self-serve terminals.
Cashes winning tickets, determining a ticket's validity and value, by running tickets through the ticket reader on the teller's terminal.
Accepts full responsibility for the money handling in the issuance and cashing of mutuel tickets, draws and returns from the money room and the liability for any shortage that may occur.
Watchful for minors to prohibit such persons from wagering.
Yields the handling of a guest complaint to immediate supervisor.
