We are seeking a Behavioral Health Music Therapist for our center to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. Music therapists work as part of a health care team that includes physicians, psychologists, nurses, mental health counselors, marriage and family therapists, rehabilitation counselors, social workers and teachers. They determine and implement a client's therapeutic goals and objectives with children, adolescents, adults, groups and/or families.

Here is some of what you can expect from being a Music Therapist with us:

  • You will evaluate behavioral health clients in an acute setting to determine appropriate level of inclusion in music therapy

  • You will determine strategies for therapeutic interventions through the use of music

  • You will participate in the interdisciplinary process of individualized treatment planning

  • You may perform other duties as assigned by supervisor when the need arises

Required Job Qualifications include:

  • BLS-Healthcare provider through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

  • CPI certification within 6 months of hire and re-certification every 2 years thereafter

  • Bachelor's degree with certification as a Music Therapist

  • Master's degree and experience in Behavioral Health related field preferred

  • One to three years of clinical/direct behavioral healthcare experience

  • Must have excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills and able to work with a highly diverse population

  • Must be knowledgeable of ADAD and JCAHO standards

  • Must be knowledgeable of behavioral health evaluation and consultation processes

  • Must have ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and work in high stress environment

  • Must be able to apply critical thinking and formulate diagnostic impressions based upon review of systems, history, symptoms and current presentation

  • Must be able to provide crisis intervention and utilize system resources/referrals
