About the Role

The teacher in this role has the opportunity to not only lay a foundation of musical appreciation, knowledge, and skill in our grammar school students, but then build upon and put these skills into practice as the Band Director for 5th - 8th-grade students. You will teach young students the basic building blocks of music, including rhythm, melody, and harmony, as well as major composers and styles of music. As the Band Director, you will be responsible for selecting appropriate music for the skill level of the group, guiding students in their instrumental ability, and developing the band program as a whole.

Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Music Education or related field

• Advanced degree preferred

• Teacher credentials as specified under state regulations preferred

• 3 -5 years of teaching experience required.

• Exhibits strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Demonstrated knowledge of and proficiency with technology and commitment to the unique role it plays in the education arena of the 21st Century.

• Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship
