Grades 5-12 Music Teacher:
Plentywood Schools has an expected opening for a 5-12 Music (Band/Chorus) Teacher for the 2024-25 school year.
Plentywood High School's music program is traditionally well-respected and filled with community pride! Traditionally, 70%+ of our MS/HS population is in band, choir, or a music elective! Our MS band meets five days a week.
We usually put on four public performances a year, along with district and state festivals. Before the past few years, PHS band and choir went 52 consecutive years receiving superior ratings at the district festival! On average, traditionally 45-50 students a year advance to the state festival on solo and ensemble performances.
We have an outstanding elementary music teacher who does a great job at preparing the elementary students for MS band. The teacher is also the HS choir accompanist.
PHS has an active Music Booster program that in the past ten years have provided funding for updating music chairs, sound shells, 4 step choir risers, a Yamaha digital piano, a Yamaha grand piano, and high school tuxedo's/formal wear for all performing groups!
Plentywood School District is a 4-day school week district.
Plentywood accepts full years of experience, has a competitive salary schedule, and has a moving stipend/signing bonus of $2,000.00. New hires are eligible for teacher retention scholarship opportunities with Sheridan Electric Cooperative and Nemont and also are eligible for the Quality Educator Loan Assistance program through OPI.
Plentywood is a great community with solid community support and high academic standards. It is a great place to live and raise a family!
