The City of Laramie is currently accepting applications for a Municipal Court Clerk in the Administrative Services Department. Our Court Clerks are responsible for providing respectful and professional services as they are the first point of contact and support for the public, attorneys, and other supporting agencies. The Court's passionate team is searching for applicants that retain strong customer service management, communication, clerical and data entry skills.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Customer service representative for the court. Answer questions at the front counter and over the phone about court matters to defendants, attorneys, the public, and outside agencies.
Perform a variety of clerical duties, including typing, filing, and reviewing a variety of legal documents; review documents and case files for completeness, timeliness, and compliance.
Assist the Judge in court room proceedings to include clerking arraignments, bench trial and jury trials as needed.
Enter and update a variety of information in computer; compile information for and prepare various departmental files.
Receive and process payments into Court software from customers in person, online, over the phone, and by mail.
Maintain confidentiality and being able to work with a diverse group of customers.
Perform a variety of clerical duties in various Administrative Services departments to include scanning, cash handling, customer service and more.
Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS (Any combination equivalent to experience and training would be qualifying):
One year of increasingly responsible clerical and customer service experience which included public contact and cash-handling preferred.
Specialized education related to business or criminal justice is preferred, but trainability and confidentiality are meaningful substitutes.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants who are offered an appointment are required to pass a comprehensive background investigation, drug screening test and driver license check.
