Ivy Investments, a global organization recognized for inventive, actively-managed investing strategies, is currently seeking a High Yield Municipal Bond Analyst to join our team in Kansas City. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to build on their credit background.

In this role, the Municipal Bond Analyst will:

  • Have a generalist background with considerable exposure to the high yield sector including: healthcare, life-care, IDRR/PCR, tobacco, charter schools and other revenue based non-rated issues

  • Perform bottom-up, fundamental analysis of municipal bond issuers

  • Understand demographic trends

  • Build and maintain financial forecasts and models; build valuation framework and metrics to identify over and under-valued credits in the municipal bond market

  • Research new investment opportunities. Present investment recommendations to portfolio managers

  • Monitor existing portfolios and make recommendations to the portfolio managers.

  • Gain an understanding of the detailed aspects of the various sectors in the municipal bond market

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting or MBA

  • Two to four years municipal credit research and analysis experience

  • Ability to evaluate credit risks and trends across sectors and geographically

  • CFA designation preferred or pursuing the CFA accreditation

  • Advanced MS Excel skill

Relocation is NOT provided for this position. Job Summary Assists assigned department by performing basic engineering-related tasks including research, development, design and delivery on assigned project(s). Essential Responsibilities * Contributes to the preparation or modification of reports, plans and designs for projects. * Assists in the preparation of project quantity and cost estimates. * Performs other duties as assigned. Work may infrequently be performed at client's job site, construction trailer, and in the field.
