Position Overview:
Under the supervision of the Communications Manager of the Office of Communications, Education and Engagement (OCEE), the Multimedia Specialist works collaboratively in the creation and support of targeted multimedia marketing, training, and/or health education campaigns (audio, video, & graphics) that promote HCPH, its activities and the practice of public health among internal and external stakeholders.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Create visually appealing, engaging and technically sound communications in print media formats, electronic, and place-based media to support departments and initiatives within the organization and increase stakeholder awareness and support of HCPH and public health in general
Work closely with team members on appropriate and innovative design concepts and in establishing project time-lines
Keeps abreast of the latest industry, style and graphic technologies and trends
Researches and implements design and marketing communication best practices and ensures the best use of agency funds
Other duties as assigned, including special tasks involved with responding to emergency events.

Education:
Experience:
At least three (3) years of graphic design experience.
Must provide examples/portfolio of past design work.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
Must use your personal mobile device for our Multifactor Authentication process.
A strong background in design fundamentals, including conceptual, typographic, and layout skills.
Ability to collaborate with designers, marketers, and project managers.
Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining high quality standards.
Ability to translate complex information into visuals and/or graphs.
Knowledge of reports formatting.

General Information
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position.
Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, from 8am to 5 pm.
May require to work weekends and possibly evenings.
