Establishes a compelling brand for the subunits to ensure effective communication and to generate interest. Oversees visual design development and production, and dissemination of marketing and communications collateral to internal and external constituents. A strong candidate will be able to work independently, produce high quality work across a variety of media, and have a strong understanding of design principles across all types of media. They will also be able to set aside their ego, be open to feedback on their work, and be flexible to change.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Apply visual design principles and creative skills to produce content and publications according to client specifications and within branding guidelines.

  • Use advanced technical skills across a range of software to develop innovative and engaging visual communications.

  • Apply strong project management skills to analyze and interpret briefs, innovate, and find creative solutions for internal and external clients. Develop and follow project plans, with defined deliverables and timelines, to ensure outcomes are finalized according to client needs. Work with the broader marketing team to ensure competing priorities are considered and managed accordingly.

  • Provide expert design consultation to stakeholders to guide the creation of materials to a high standard of visual presentation. Foster strong working relationships and maintain positive communication, while working on multiple projects.

  • Manage student worker contribution to projects, including task delegation, providing guidance and oversight, and coordinating workloads and timelines. Monitor project work for quality, accuracy and adherence to brand guidelines.

  • Coordinate the production of materials with external agencies and vendors, obtain quotes, and define and monitor quality of production.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Visual design for web and print publications

  • UX/UI design

  • Photography/Videography

  • Adobe Creative Suite, primarily Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom, and XD

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design or related field or the equivalent.

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience is required.
