WEAR-TV has an exciting opportunity for a Multimedia Journalist (MMJ). Your responsibilities as an MMJ will include reporting, shooting and editing news stories, enterprising story ideas, developing contacts, as well as other responsibilities as assigned. In this role, you will be expected to produce daily content on a variety of platforms including the internet, social networking sites and mobile phones, in addition to television. You must have and maintain a valid license and a good driving record.

Skills:

  • Sharp news judgment

  • Excellent technical skills

  • The ability to work well independently

Experience:

  • Experience with live shots is required

  • Experience with Live-U is a plus

  • A minimum of 2 years reporting experience is required

Designs and develops multimedia applications, systems and products. 1. Designs and develops multimedia applications, systems and products involving computer graphics and interactive computing such as computer-based systems for personal computers or CD-ROM applications. 2. Incorporates software applications in multiple technology media systems, such as graphics, animation, text, and sound. 3. Works from concept drawings, sketches, models, and/or written and verbal instructions. 4. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned. 5. Participates in special projects as required. Education: Bachelors Degree in commercial art, fine art, or a related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience. Qualifications: 2-5 years of related multimedia design experience. Experience with Unity, Unreal, Captivate, Articulate, HTML5, JavaScript, Canvas a plus. Comments: * Candidate must be a US citizen with a qualifying background investigation (NACLC or higher) within the last 10 years to meet eligibility requirements for an IT Level II Common Access Card (CAC). * Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. * Some travel may be required. * Applicants outside of the areas listed will telecommute and must meet the requirements of GDIT's telecommuting policy.
