The International Broadcaster serves as a Multimedia Digital Reporter. The incumbent is responsible for conceiving, pitching, reporting, shooting and producing precedent-setting, sophisticated, original, comprehensive and highly engaging stories for digital, News Center Television shows, special projects and all other platforms.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
Report and file for digital, TV, radio and social media depending on the story and assignment and will travel and report around the United States.
Serve simultaneously as a solo producer, reporter, videographer and writer.
Handle audio and lighting elements on assignment, shoot sequences of broadcast-quality on digital, video, and audio equipment.
Establish and maintain contacts with sources, experts, and individuals interested in a variety of subjects.
Locate a wide variety of subjects to interview by driving through city residential areas, knocking on doors, and visiting communities across the country to tell recent events and stories of interest to U.S. citizens.
Work with producers and/or videographers and editors as appropriate to complete material for broadcasts, affiliates, publishing on the web, VOA social platforms, and translation requirements by VOA language services.
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.

Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12), which is directly related to this line of work.
Specialized Experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Specialized experience for this position is experience as a field reporter and/or producer researching, writing, shooting and editing highly-targeted original news and/or feature video packages for multimedia platforms such as TV, radio, Internet, social media, and mobile devices.
Examinations Required: Candidates who meet all education and/or experience requirements must demonstrate their knowledge and ability in language writing and translation /adaption through successful performance in a written examination and ability to voice material for radio broadcast in a voice audition. You will be notified as to whether you will be scheduled for testing once qualifications determinations have been made. Tests are conducted by email and via SKYPE. APPLICANTS WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYING THEIR OWN EXPENSES TO AND FROM THE TEST SITE. APPLICANTS THAT OPT TO TAKE THE TEST VIA SKYPE MUST HAVE ACCESS TO A COMPUTER WITH A WEBCAM. A PRINTER IS OPTIONAL.
