Summary:
As part of the Marketing Communications team, the Multimedia Coordinator is responsible for the strategic planning, conceptualizing, pitching, development, and creation of multimedia content that illustrates the ASPCA's mission and supports key programmatic activities. The individual will work closely with other departments, and specifically Social Media, to seek and identify compelling stories to be shared with ASPCA audiences through owned and unowned channels.
The Multimedia Coordinator will report to the Senior Manager, Photo Editor and provide support to others on the Multimedia team by contributing to the creative process.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Content Creation and Capture (55%)
Collaborate with program partners at the ASPCA to create multimedia content that tells our story, showcases our lifesaving work, and engages staff, volunteers, supporters, and the public through photography, both locally and nationally
Develop and coordinate photo and video assignments from concept to completion, including offering feedback to others for ongoing projects
Assess, prioritize, and facilitate requests from multiple departments across the organization to best present the organization's work while balancing team workload and optimizing ROI
Scout locations, identify subjects, and follow stories that can be captured to support current and future multimedia requests
Process photo and video content for use outside the organization by partner groups or press
Travel to remote locations to document ASPCA rescue work for fundraising and media needs
Follow all safety protocols and exhibit Fear Free handling when working in uncertain field conditions, or where animals are housed
Obtain legal clearances and internal approvals when necessary
Digital Content Support (20%)
Collaborate with programmatic partners to produce content in alignment with both the Multimedia and Social Media Annual Planning calendars
Assist in researching emerging Social Media trends and collaborate with the Social Media team to identify opportunities for collaboration
Distribute photos internally and externally as requested
Asset Management (15%)
Assist in processing, uploading, and archiving content as needed
Assign metadata information to content on our DAM platforms to increase both the utility and reach of existing assets
Utilize SEO best practices to optimize content for search visibility
Administration (10%)
Participate and contribute updates in meetings, while working cross-functionally with other members of the team
Engage in consistent and regular reporting to supervisor, including giving and receiving effective feedback
Participate in professional development opportunities when possible, and share results with the rest of the team
Advise and recommended gear and technology upgrades
Other duties, as required and deemed necessary by supervisor

Qualifications:
Experience using multimedia to articulate complex concepts and emotionally compelling narratives
Ability to successfully manage multiple, concurrent project demands with quick turnaround times
Ability to work collaboratively with a team, independently and with varying levels of direction
Fosters open communication and provides consistent and constructive feedback with other team members and supervisor to elevate our storytelling and strengthen relationships with program experts
Must be self-motivated
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Patient and persistent; curious; comfortable in asking and receiving questions
Demonstrable skill in both capturing and producing content, using both DSLR and mobile phone camera systems
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite
Experience with Social Media management tools such as Sprout, Hootsuite, etc preferred
Ability to operate, troubleshoot and transport camera equipment and related equipment 40lbs or more
Must be able to travel for multiple day engagements
Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, and occasionally long days and weekends
Must provide a valid driver's license upon hire and pass a motor vehicle history check demonstrating a safe driving history.
Compensation and Benefits:
Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of factors, including but not limited to education, training, experience, location, business needs, internal equity, market demands or budgeted amount for the role. The target hiring range is for new hire offers only, and staff compensation may increase beyond the maximum hiring range based on performance over time. The maximum of the hiring range is reserved for candidates with the highest qualifications and relevant experience. The expected hiring salary range for this role is set forth below and may be modified in the future.

Bachelors, High School Diploma (Required)
3+ years of digital photo or video production experience, A digital portfolio of professional multimedia work required, Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in photography or related fields, Demonstrated expertise in producing photo content, Experience with documentary practices preferred, Experience with field and studio lighting preferred
