Would you like to perform diverse systems administration duties?

If so, we're looking for someone like you to join our team at APL. We are seeking a Multimedia Applications Administrator to enable the video editing, workflow management, and video distribution capabilities of the Laboratory.

In this role, you will work with a team of video professionals, systems administrators, storage administrators, and solutions architects to ensure we can continue providing innovative and creative solutions in support of the Laboratory's mission.

As a Multimedia Applications Administrator, you will… Install, configure, maintain and administer multimedia management applications and other required software. Identify and resolve software and hardware problems, work with vendor technical support to resolve problems and work with other technical staff on supporting their requirements.

Configure and maintain system monitoring tools, monitor and test system performance, provide statistics and reports on a periodic basis. Qualifications You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you... A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience. At least 1+ year of Linux or Windows systems administration experience, solving technical problems including root cause problem analysis, and the ability to creatively resolve problems in a timely manner.

Good communication skills including collaboration with both the multimedia and Information Technology communities. A strong desire, initiative, and ability to continuously learn and acquire new technical skills. Are able to obtain Secret level security clearance.

If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship. You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you have experience with... Disk storage arrays implemented to support video editing.
