Multimedia 3D Animator/Motion Graphics Designer

Our multidisciplinary design team is looking for an innovative, collaborative, and creative Multimedia Animator/Motion Graphics Designer. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, creating, and executing animations that include realistic product models composited with graphic illustration elements that will be used across a variety of public platforms. As a part of the design team, you will work alongside fellow creatives, leadership, and neighboring departments to interpret and translate technical concepts into strong storytelling narratives for diverse audiences.

What you will be doing

This position will:

• Collaborate closely with the Jr. Creative Director as well as the brand, UI/UX, and engineering teams to produce realistic product animations that highlight different features of our hardware and software products

• Craft storyboards that act as visual guides to help develop animations with strong narratives

• Act as the full pipeline for all animation projects, working from the initial ideation stages to the final outcome

• Update and adjust our current library of animations formatted in Maya and Apple Motion software

You must have

• B.S. or B.A. in 3D animation, motion graphics, film production, design, visual effects, visual communications, or related field

• 3+ years of industry experience in a well-established visual effects/UI animator/3D animator role

• Professional experience building animations and models in Autodesk Maya

• Expertise in motion graphics and animation software (e.g., After Effects, Motion, Blender)

• Experience working on multiple projects from start to finish in a deadline-driven environment with the ability to adapt to changing priorities while staying organized in a fast-paced environment

• A portfolio that showcases your ability to execute a consistent design language, as well as that showcases your design skill & style in animation, motion design, videography, etc

• An ability to think creatively and translate complex technological concepts into broadly comprehensible and visually appealing content for a wide audience.

• Openness to participate in a feedback-based work process to guide improvements and drive growth

• Strong ability to self-drive and self-manage

You should have

• Professional experience animating UI layouts/designs

• A strong understanding of visual storytelling, product branding, typography, and image/video composition as applied to animation and motion graphics

• Expertise in creating models, textures, materials, and lighting

• A strong desire for continued learning and open-mindedness to explore new software

• Experience with a range of digital design software including Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign), Affinity Designer, Sketch, Canva, etc.)

• Experience with Keyshot or similar 3D rendering software

• Familiarity using Nuke compositing software in applications to create animations•

• Strong ability to problem-solve

It's helpful to have

• An interest in human-centered design, sustainability, impact, green building

• Experience using UX design software (e.g. Sketch, and Figma,)

• Experience with Inventor/Solid-works or other 3D modeling software

• Experience using Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or other video editing software

• Experience in HVAC, building controls, graphic design for equipment manufacturers, etc.

• A strong familiarity with MacOS

• Startup experience
