Senior Designer:

The Senior Designer provides support to the Creative and Marketing teams working onsite in a hybrid model for our luxury beauty client in New York City. They are responsible for assisting in the production, creation, and adaptation of graphics, production files, 2D & 3D rendering, graphic strips, displays, print & POS design, and various architectural needs regarding various retail environments such as shop-in-shop, free-standing stores, pop up events, trade shows and more.

A keen eye for beauty and fashion is essential.

    • Graphic Design and Architectural Drawing: Develop graphics, architectural drawings, 3D renders, and presentation boards to convey construction, design intent, and merchandising requirements of retail environments and fixtures specific to the beauty, skincare, and cosmetics sector. Strong proficiency in SketchUp is a must.
    • Project Management: Manage multiple projects and priorities in a timely manner. Maintain working calendars and timelines to ensure the timely rollout of all materials. Maintain brand consistency throughout all touch points, with a deep understanding of the unique requirements of the beauty and skincare industry.
    • Collaboration: Contribute and work well within a collaborative team, while also capable of taking initiative in completing assigned tasks with little supervision. Foster good interaction with cross-functional partners and internal teams, understanding the nuances of the beauty, skincare, and cosmetics sector.
    • New Design Efforts: Aid in the creation, development, adaptation, and execution of new design efforts specific to the beauty, skincare, and cosmetics industry. This includes retail fixtures, store layouts, visual and store displays, graphic applications, and overall creative efforts for retail stores, shop-in-shop, chains, pop-ups, and trade shows.
    • Printing and Production: Build print-ready files for direct submission to print vendors for prototypes. Assist with proofing and press checks, ensuring that all materials meet the high standards of the beauty and skincare industry. Keep files organized on servers for easy retrieval.
    • Technical Skills: Possess strong technical skills with a full understanding of how to develop structures and displays that are tailored to the needs of the beauty, skincare, and cosmetics sector. Prepare files for production, link files, and follow file naming and storage protocols specific to this industry.
    • Industry Awareness: Stay up to date with industry developments and tools within the beauty, skincare, and cosmetics sector. Contribute creatively to the team and possess strong creative skills that are in tune with the latest trends and innovations in the industry.
    • Strong graphical abilities and understanding of architectural design, with a focus on the beauty, skincare, and cosmetics sector.
    • Proficiency in SketchUp and other design software.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in retail environment design, preferably with a background in the beauty, skincare, or cosmetics industry.
    • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in the fast-paced environment of beauty and skincare retail.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
    • Willingness to contribute creatively and stay up to date with industry trends and innovations in the beauty, skincare, and cosmetics sector.

Requirements

  • 5 + years of solid graphic, store, and fixture design experience, preferably in retail or beauty, with a degree in graphic design/architectural design, or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture or a related field
  • Retail merchandising experience, a plus
  • Proficient in SketchUp is required
  • Exceptional Adobe Creative Suite fluency (Illustrator / InDesign / Photoshop) and Microsoft Office (Word / Excel)
  • AutoCAD skills

Benefits

The anticipated salary range for this role is $90,000 - $112,000 annually. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience, and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
