Instagram is looking for an experienced Communications Manager to create and support proactive public relations campaigns, product launches as well as consumer communication programs with a particular emphasis in key demographics such as Hispanic audiences, among others. The role will focus on consumer and multicultural outlets, and must have very strong relationships with multicultural press.
The ideal candidate will be a team player with the ability to work cross-functionally and oversee proactive and reactive communications programs. The ability to come up with creative, impactful communication campaigns across different cultures and demographics with tangible result is key for this role.
Candidates should be adept at identifying and working with third-party advocates for storytelling opportunities, identify and amplify important cultural moments and work with younger audiences in mind. A strategic, creative and resourceful bilingual (English-Spanish) communicator, able to manage multiple high-level projects simultaneously will be successful. The ability to combine strategy and flawless execution, ruthlessly prioritize and work on multiple projects at once, is essential.
This is a full-time position located in San Francisco, California or Menlo Park, California.
Educate consumers, advertisers, press and influencers in the US about Instagram's products and initiatives, with a focus on Hispanic and other multicultural audiences.
Develop and execute creative communications strategies to reach businesses, media and creators/influencers in the Spanish media space in the US, including policy makers and industry groups.
Drive positive coverage across a broad range of media outlets including consumer, business, trade and technology as well as on social channels to reach teens, businesses and multicultural media in the US.
Organize press briefings, events and industry opportunities.
Prepare briefing materials and manage spokespeople.
Act as a spokesperson in PR moments for our company in the US, with a focus on Spanish media or other Multicultural outlets.
Work as part of a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Organize press briefings, media sessions and events, with little oversight or guidance.
Prepare bilingual (English-Spanish) briefing materials.
Experience with strategic communications, executive communications, project management, and thought leadership
Experience in project management or programs
Fluency in both English and Spanish
Ability to think, plan, and execute resourcefully, both autonomously and as part of a broader team
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and ability to lead multi-stakeholder projects
