Position Purpose:

Under general supervision, assign, create, route and close work orders. Provide exemplary technical knowledge of the School Dude work order system, opening and closing work orders, running reports and providing supervisors with open work orders on a daily basis

Qualifications:

  • Accredited High School diploma or USA equivalency

  • Three (3) years of directly related experience

  • Valid Texas Drivers License

  • Knowledfe of computers and proficiency in software applications, such as; Microsoft Word, Excell, Power Point, Oracle Fiance, and School Dude

  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of employees, including administrative staff and outside vendors

  • Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills as required for planning, scheduling, coordination, inspecting and evaluating

  • Demonstrates skills in accurate record keeping and filing systems, running accurate reports from the School Dude work order system

  • Demonstrates exemplary organizational, problem solving and investigative skills. Have general knowledge and the ability to manage inventory programs to keep up with tools, equipment, materials and shop stock

  • Must pass a Dallas ISD random drug test

  • Able to communicate in English by speaking, reading and writing. Ability to speak in Spanish is a plus

Basic Functions:

  • Provide exemplary technical knowledge of the School Dude work order system. Review, accept, assign, print, open and close work orders on a daily basis

  • Maintain accurate filing system for open and closed work orders

  • Maintain accurate inventory of tools, equipment, material and shop stock records utilizing the School Dude work order system

  • Provide exemplary communication and correspondence to work crews, principals, administrators, facility supervisors, vendors and applicable personnel

  • Prepare, create and modify statistical reports from the School Dude work order system, identifying work order status as requested

  • Prepare and execute School Dude training to all staff using multiple platforms of technology including I Pads, Tablet and Computer.

  • Follow all safety guidelines and regulations, ensuring that safe work practices are being observed

  • Work closely and correspond with other departments in Dallas I.S.D., such as Electrical, Plumbing, Grounds, HVAC and Central Division, etc. Report and resolve maintenance issues together as to improve safety and repair conditions in district facilities.

  • Attend professional training for job enhancement

  • Employee may be required to flex work hours or daily work schedule to meet departmental needs

  • Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned, including lawn care, custodial and general maintenance

Salary Minimum: Salary Midpoint:

$20.17 Per Hour $24.60 Per Hour

Selected individuals for Dallas Independent School District positions will be placed according to compensation guidelines. A campus-based professional employee may not assume a new position for which he/she was selected based upon the posting process until the end of the current semester, unless approved by the Executive Director - Human Capital Management.
