Serve as a multi-functional member of the patient care team under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Support the RN staff through regularly organizing and facilitating two or more functional roles of the patient care plan of which may include the following: Nurse Technician, Unit Secretary, EKG Technician, and Monitor Technician. Accurately and promptly communicate with the nursing staff, patient, family, and patient care team as required.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Basic Life Support (BLS); Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) required without completion of a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) OR post-secondary nursing education program; OR currently enrolled in a School of Nursing with completion of the "Fundamentals of Nursing" curriculum required to perform Nurse Technician duties; Certified EKG Technician (CET) is required to perform Electrocardiogram duties; otherwise preferred.
Minimum Work Experience:
One (1) year of nursing assistance experience is preferred.
