KHOU 11, the TEGNA owned CBS affiliate in Houston, Texas is seeking a Producer for our daily talk show, Great Day Houston. This role is responsible for producing daily show segments for our award-winning show. Because Great Day Houston is a live, 1-hour daily talk show, this position requires a dynamic, creative thinker who is also organized and thrives at delivering on tight deadlines. Solid visual and editorial skills are essential.

The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, energetic, strategic thinker and a team player with a positive attitude. A strong awareness of current events, social media trends and skills with different platforms is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops, books, produces unique and engaging daily segments for a lifestyle show

  • Produces informative and creative segments that achieve positive results for clients

  • Writes, proofs and reviews scripts, graphics and other show elements

  • Creates daily social media posts based on show materials

  • Works with the Executive Producer and Sales Department on client segments

  • Develops and fosters strong, collaborative relationships with clients

  • Works as required on other locally produced programming

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications or related field

  • Three (3) to five (5) years producing news or magazine format shows in mid to large markets

  • Must be well organized and able to manage multiple assignments simultaneously

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Must be solution-oriented and focused on client results and retention

  • Must be a critical thinker and possess a positive attitude

  • Rundown software experience (preferable ENPS)

  • Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop and After Effects

  • Must have social media knowledge and a digital footprint

  • Ability to shoot and edit is a plus

  • Line producing experience is a plus

Work Environment: Office

Travel: Rarely: less than 10%

Work Environment Set: Office: normally performed in a typical interior/office environment

The goal is to develop a strong book of business that will yield a robust number of leads.</p><p>The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, take initiative, technologically competent, charismatic, consistent individual, with good people skills, and present themselves in a well-dressed, professional, and classy persona.</p><p>Responsibilities and Day-to-day duties</p><ul> <li>Organize and plan their day/week in advance.
