Position Overview:

Freddie Mac's Finance Division is currently seeking a Financial Controller Professional to support the accounting and reporting of the Multifamily Segment's financial results. This position within the Multifamily CFO group will be responsible for the accounting and reporting of Multifamily's mortgage loan portfolio including loans Held for Investment (HFI) at amortized cost and loans Held for Sale (HFS) at either Fair Value Option (FVO) or the Lower of Cost or Fair Value (LOCOFV).

We are responsible for providing timely and accurate financial results in compliance with GAAP and SEC Reporting guidelines.

Your Impact:

  • Prepare baseline journal entries and reconciliations for the mortgage loan portfolio

  • Support external 10-K and 10-Q SEC disclosures including the Statement of Cash Flows

  • Maintain internal segment portfolio analytics and other corporate deliverables

  • Coordinate quarterly reviews with internal and external auditors

  • Update control activities including revisions to SOX processes and critical data elements

  • Facilitate technology changes in support of business requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in financial accounting and analysis

  • Working knowledge of GAAP and SEC disclosure requirements

  • Relevant primary or secondary mortgage market experience

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 including Excel

  • Experience testing and implementing financial accounting systems

  • Quickly adapting to changing priorities and new business initiatives

  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft General Ledger System

  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $75,000 - $113,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
