Multi-Blanking Line Operator

If you're someone that is task-oriented and enjoys keeping busy, this might be just the career for you. The Multi-Blanking Operator sets up, operates, and monitors the multi-blanking line. This role is responsible for safely completing both slitting and cut-to length processes.

How you'll contribute to our company:

1.Review work instructions to determine machine adjustments and material requirements

2.Operate the multi-blanking machine to slit-to-width and cut-to-length based on

customers specifications

3.Monitor condition of blanks for defects and ensure compliance with customer

requirements and production instructions

4.Adjust MBL setup as needed for quality blanks

5.Assist maintenance to troubleshoot malfunctions or complete preventative maintenance

as necessary

6.Setup skids on the parts conveyor to ensure no disruption of production

7.Assist packager as needed to stack material

8.Complete required paperwork

9.Communicate non-compliance or quality problems to supervisor and/or shift lead

10. Remove scrap and empty hoppers as needed

11. Clean and maintain housekeeping of MBL area

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of Statistical Process Control - X bar and R charts, individual moving range

charts, basic distribution analysis

• Knowledge of raw materials, multi-blanking processes, and quality standards

• Knowledge of and ability to comply with safety rules and requirements

• Ability to accurately use tape measures, Rockwell tester, digital calipers, digital/dial

indicators, height gauge, computer, part specific gauges and micrometers

• Ability to read and understand material tags and production instructions

• Ability to communicate effectively

• Ability to see details at close range

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to routinely climb stairs, ladders, or platforms

• Ability to routinely twist, bend, stoop, and squat
