Job Description:

The Associate Manager will be responsible for leading a centralized design modeling, drafting, and checking group that supports FBM Mechanical and Electrical Support Equipment design and development. The group is responsible to to prepare, perform checking function, and release models, manufacturing drawings, and test procedures in Enterprise Product Data Management (EPDM) work flow process tool. The Associate Manager will interface with leadership and program management personnel to provide project planning for IMP/IMS development activities, monitor cost, technical, and schedule performance, provide work assignments and technical direction to subordinates, and review of data products to ensure thoroughness, accuracy and completeness meeting all project objectives and commitments. Manages administrative and personnel needs of the drafting and checking team including: performance monitoring and review, career development, salary planning, special recognition award, training and development, and maintenance of technical and process expertise within the team. Coordinates with program personnel to understand and identify functional resource requirements (staffing, tools, etc.). Champions continuous process improvement initiatives.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related field

  • CAD modeling, drafting and proficiency with IDEAS and/or Creo

  • Experience supporting the development and checking support data and the release of models, drawings, and documentation in an electronic PDM system.

  • Experience leading teams as a formal or informal leader

  • Demonstrated commitment to development and deployment of productivity/performance improvements, leveraging new technologies and leading change

Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Northrop Grumman, Mission Systems is looking for a Manager, Programs Level 2 to direct and manage technical and business activities associated with the investigation, implementation and accomplishment of alterations to the US Navy Fleet Ballistic Missile Program – TRIDENT II (D5) Launcher Subsystem configuration baseline. This position is a program management role within the Launcher Program Office located at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station working with internal and external organizations to achieve customer needs and goals. The ideal candidate demonstrates a broad skill set that is balanced between interpersonal, business, and technical capabilities. The candidate has excellent communication skills and can engage project stakeholders, functional teams, and both internal and external customers to achieve project goals. The candidate is committed to ethics, integrity, and innovation while challenging traditional ways of doing business. Responsibilities include the following: * Directs all phases of Launcher Subsystem Strategic Systems Programs Alteration (SPALT) program by providing leadership, oversight, and mentoring to the project manager team managing the individual SPALT projects from inception through completion * Responsible for the cost, schedule, accomplishment and technical oversight of assigned SPALT projects * Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract modifications * Coordinates the preparation of proposals, proposal work statements and specifications, and financial terms/conditions of the contract * Acts as primary customer contact for project activities, leading project status review sessions with internal management and customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance * Establishes project milestones and monitors adherence to SPALT processes and schedules, identifies project risks and manages risk mitigation or solutions * Ensures that contract requirements are met by directing, requesting, motivating or in other ways effecting desired action by all participating functional organizations and vendors or suppliers which are necessary to meet project requirements. * Ensure that each functional organizations planning is complete, consistent and realistic, considering manpower, skills, tooling and facilities consistent with that of other functional organizations and properly supported by the resources of each participating organization * Anticipate customer needs and develops strategies to fulfill those needs and or realign customers' expectations Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree, with minimum 6 years Project Planning/Program Management experience in a DoD Environment * Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong internal and external customer relationships * Prior experience working with cross-functional organizations (Program Office, Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Field Operations, etc.) * Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft Project and SAP MRP (or similar) system * Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a clearance Preferred Qualifications: * Previous experience with the TRIDENT II Launcher Subsystem and Support Equipment * Working knowledge of Earned Value Management * Design and operational knowledge of Navy Programs * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, leadership, and problem solving abilities Northrop Grumman Corporation is a leading global security company providing innovative systems, products, and solutions in unmanned systems, cybersecurity, C4ISR, and logistics and modernization to government and commercial customers worldwide.
