EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for MTS III - Software (Network Administration) in our Hughes Network Systems division.

Job Responsibilities

• Plan and implement specialized network systems administration and management to support the design and maintenance of the laboratory infrastructure necessary for the development, deployment, testing and maintenance of network management applications and related network tools for satellite broadband network operations.

• Plan and execute projects to optimally configure and maintain data center infrastructure used for application development and testing by the company's Service Delivery Group to ensure availability, reliability, scalability, security, data confidentiality and endpoint security.

• Employ network virtualization tools (VMWare ESXi) to meet requirements for the creation of virtual workspaces within which the development teams will conduct network application design.

• Manage server infrastructure and data-center operations across Unix, Linux, and Windows platforms.

• Provide configuration management and installation management for Oracle Database systems, Virtual Machines, Operating Systems and network infrastructure to include High Availability-VPN setup, Firewalls (Palo Alto), Load Balancers, Local Traffic Mangers and Application Security managers (F5) and Cisco/Cloud networking-LAN/WAN design.

• Plan and implement network automation solutions: write codes and scripts for network automation tools that will optimize, monitor and automate the deployment of operation support systems and business support systems (OSS/BSS) and the related infrastructure including Virtualization solutions, Databases, Networks, Load Balancers, Firewalls, Docker Containers and Storage Area Networks interfacing with Satellite Networks.

• Plan and implement backup and recovery solutions for application development, staging and production environments employing Google Backup and DR; create backup templates and Cloud storage buckets for application and database virtual machines; execute tests for virtual machine and database recovery processes.

• Execute administration and management tasks related to Openshift to Google Cloud Platform migration; deploy Google Kubernetes Engine clusters and common services (DNS, VPC, Firewall, etc.) for all programs within the development, staging and production environments.

• Plan and execute infrastructure deployment and changes in Google Cloud and Amazon Cloud employing Terraform and Infrastructure as a Code concepts across all environments.

• Execute networking configuration tasks to include DNS settings, firewall rules and updating network security patches using Ansible.

Basic Requirements:

• Master's degree in a field of Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Telecommunications with 6 months of experience gained in a network and computer systems administration position.

• As an alternative, a Bachelor's degree in a field of Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Telecommunications with 5 years of experience gained in a network and computer systems administration position will be acceptable.

Special Requirements:

• Six months of experience administering virtual network environment employing industry standard tools: VMware ESXi, and Azure Virtual machines, and Azure Virtual Network.

• Six months of experience gained in migrating test or development environments to additional cloud or on-premises employing Microsoft Azure Cloud and Azure Migration tools.

• Six months of experience implementing daily on-premises database backups employing Amazon Web Services S3 Buckets.

Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.
