Individuals in this position are required to provide proactive, remote, and onsite engineering support to clients as needed.

Merit Technologies is a Managed Service Provider located in Greenville, SC. We support a wide variety of technologies and clients. Since 2009, we have worked hard to provide efficient, productive, and profitable IT solutions for businesses to help them be more efficient.

We work as partners to our clients offering RMM, managed services, CIO services, VOIP, security, SaaS development, and disaster recovery. This job requires a mixture of in-office work at our Greenville, SC headquarters and work from home. Summary of Role A Systems Engineer III will work with the MSP team to offer high-level support for clients.

This includes a variety of responsibilities. In this role, you will provide project management and implementation for clients, technical support, customer training, maintenance, etc. You will act as the lead engineer for your team and for clients assigned to your team, assisting the other engineers in the overall support of the clients.

You will plan, design, and implement network and system engineering plans of moderate scope and complexity. A Systems Engineer III will identify and develop requirements for the client for provisioning, inventory, projects, and need assessments. Responsibilities Offering technical support on-site or via phone or email Troubleshooting a variety of computer/server/network issues Maintaining, repairing, moving, or carrying computer equipment Configuring computer networks all while adhering to all company standards and policies.

Being a team leader, promoting and encouraging your team to excel and learn new skillsets. This job does include local travel in the Greenville-Spartanburg-Anderson metropolitan area, as well as some travel outside of the Upstate. Education and Experience Experience: 8 year in the IT field required, Managed Service Provider (MSP) experience is preferred.

Language: English Education Level: Bachelor's Degree Preferred Field of Study: Engineering or related field A combination of education and experience is acceptable Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities An experienced professional with a full understanding of Information Technology Well-developed troubleshooting skills and tested methodologies Experienced in analyzing complex issues, distilling and communicating their relevant aspects Ability and desire to be part of a team Flexibility with a positive attitude Strong problem-solving abilities and experience Sound time management and task management Familiarity with the below technologies Applications like Microsoft Office, Google Apps for Business, Visio, Adobe, Exchange, etc.Windows Server Operating Systems Active Directory Virtualization; mainly focusing on Hyper-V and VMWare Remote management tools and ticketing systems Firewall management (Watchguard, Sophos, Sonicwall, Fortinet) Backup and Disaster Recovery Wireless infrastructure (Unifi and Meraki) Switch management (Configuration, Troubleshooting, Maintenance) Office 365 administration Google Workspace administration
