Job Description

We are seeking an MSK Care Advisor to join the Patient Services team. You will be part of an administrative and clinical team to receive, assess, and bring to appropriate resolution all new visit (external and internal) requests for physician services at the Center.

We expect that you will:

  • Screens requests according to Service and Physician criteria to ensure the most accurate scheduling.

  • Improve patient access while providing a public relations role sensitive to patients' needs by using critical thinking and decision-making skills.

  • Build an excellent and accurate embodiment of the MSK brand by providing the first impression and first experience for new patients.

  • Play a meaningful role in generating new visit volume, figuring out whether patients choose to receive treatment at MSK and, in turn, generating revenue and growth for the institution.

  • Field incoming inquiries and requests, and matching patients to the best possible service, physician, and appointment based on their diagnosis, geographic location, and preferences.

  • Develop deep expertise in a primary clinical group (set of disease areas)

  • Removes obstacles for new patients by assisting with obtaining records, radiology/pathology reports, etc.

  • Directing patients regarding insurance concerns; and advocating to secure timely appointments.

  • Exceed patient expectations with your accessibility, knowledge, generosity, partnership, and support serving as a guide for patients, caregivers, and clinical leadership.

Does this sound like you?

We need you to have:

  • Interest in a role that combines both clinical and administrative responsibilities.

  • 1-3 years of related experience within the healthcare field; a Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology; ability and interest to learn clinical information and criteria.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Epic

  • Ability to handle acutely ill outpatients in stressful situations.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.

  • Availability: Monday-Friday (flexible to work between the hours of 8am and 6pm; schedules vary for Department coverage)

  • Superb social skills; able to effectively partner and make impactful connections

  • A strong interest in working with people in a patient focused environment

Do you have a sense of urgency and a relentless energy to improve and innovate? If so, we have an exciting and challenging new opportunity for a Partnerships Manger to join our MSK Direct team. You will be part of the Strategy and Innovation department here at MSK and will lead partnerships and programs to make it simple for cancer patients to access the best possible care, easing the burden of a cancer diagnosis. MSK Direct creates a relationship between Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK) and employers and unions, ensuring simplified, guided access to the benefits of cancer treatment at MSK for partner employees/members and their families. With MSK Direct, employees have direct access to a team of dedicated professionals who specialize in cancer. The team includes experienced nurses, social workers, and MSK Care Advisors who will be there to guide them through the process of getting care. As the Partnerships Manager you will be responsible for serving as the primary contact for designated partners, improving and developing their future activities, programs and expanding new opportunities. You will work on a high performing cross-functional team to bring the wealth of MSK's resources to your partners through your client relationship, analytical rigor and execution skills YOU WILL * Cultivate relationships with organizations across the healthcare ecosystem * Work with employer and union partners through the MSK Direct program, as well other partners, both nationally and internationally. * Ensure that our partners are deriving significant value from their relationship with MSK and are engaged with MSK on an ongoing basis. * Collaborate closely with all partners to drive awareness and engagement of MSK programs * Lead program engagement activities * Collaborate with internal teams to streamline data collection for reporting YOU ARE: * Knowledgeable about business and the marketplace and able to apply this knowledge to advance your organization's goals. * A cultivator of innovation who builds and fosters new ways for the organization to be successful. * A good decision-maker, with proven success at making timely decisions that keep the organization moving forward. * Consistently achieving results, even under tough circumstances. * Able to hold yourself and others accountable in order to achieve goals and live up to commitments. * Effective at building relationship networks both inside and outside of your organization.
