The first GTA charter, Mare Island Technology Academy Middle and High Schools was founded in 2001, later adding Griffin Academy Middle and High Schools in 2018.

    GTA Schools serve students in grades 6-12. Griffin Technology Academies offer a variety of programs and services designed to support students in achieving academic success. These include: small class sizes, personalized instruction, extracurricular activities and enrichment opportunities like, burgeoning athletic programs, before and after school care program, early college (dual enrollment, articulation, concurrent enrollment), AVID, and CTE courses.

    The schools also provide students with access to technology resources, including laptops and tablets. Students in High School have the opportunity for community service and internships overseen by our Work-Based Learning Coordinator (WBL). Job Summary

The teacher provides an educational program that allows all students to master State standards and maximize their potential. To develop in the student skills, knowledge, concepts, generalizations, principles, appreciations, and attitudes that will promote fullest possible academic and physical development and assist him/her in valuing the dignity and worth of himself/herself and others.

He/she provides within the classroom an educational program for the students and assists in other school programs as required by the site administrator and/or District policy. The Resource Teacher will work in close collaboration with the classroom teacher supporting all students in a general education classroom. Within this framework, s/he will work directly with students that have an Individualized Education Program (IEP). The Resource Teacher will provide specialized instruction for students in accordance with the IEP and build effective relationships with all members of the IEP team. The teacher is encouraged to be a creative innovator that inspires and supports all education needs.
