Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Microsoft Teams Administrator to join our Information Technology team. The Teams Admin will be responsible for scheduling Microsoft Teams meetings for all classes across all campuses of DTS for each of the four academic semesters (Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer) for both Masters and Doctorate level courses. This role is crucial in facilitating seamless communication and collaboration among professors, students, and administrative staff through effective use of the Teams platform. The MS Teams Admin will work closely with the IT Helpdesk, Registrar's Office, professors, and department administrators to ensure all Teams classes are created and activated, and Teams meetings are accurately scheduled according to the class schedules provided by the Registrar's Office. Additionally, the Administrator will work with the Faculty Support Specialists to provide support for any Teams software-related issues, including room changes and troubleshooting.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Schedule Microsoft Teams meetings for all classes every semester across all DTS campuses, ensuring alignment with class schedules provided by the Registrar's Office.

  • Collaborate with the IT Helpdesk, Registrar's Office, professors, and department administrators to gather class schedules and other relevant information for meeting setup.

  • Provide timely support for any changes in classroom assignments or meeting times, adjusting Teams meetings as necessary.

  • Collaborate with the Faculty Support Specialists to offer technical support related to Microsoft Teams to professors and staff, including troubleshooting software issues and guiding users on features and functionalities.

  • Collaborate with the Faculty Support Specialists to conduct training sessions for staff and faculty on how to effectively use Microsoft Teams for teaching and collaboration.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Microsoft Teams updates and features, applying best practices for meeting scheduling and management.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to the use of Microsoft Teams for class meetings.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor to meet departmental and organizational needs.

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.

  • Proven experience administering Microsoft Teams in an educational or corporate setting.

  • Strong understanding of the Microsoft Teams platform, including meeting scheduling, software updates, and troubleshooting.

  • Experience working with IT Helpdesk systems and processes is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds for short periods.
