Farmingdale State College is seeking a dynamic experienced Nurse Educator to fill the role of Program Coordinator for our graduate degree in Nursing Administration. As the Program Coordinator for our graduate degree program, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining high quality student outcomes, assessing curriculum, developing recruitment strategies, and establishing a supportive advisement infrastructure. Responsibilities will include:

Administrative

  • The Program Coordinator will direct, supervise, perform, insure, and document all activities required and or suggested by external accreditation bodies and appropriate licensing board/agencies. These activities include, but are not limited to, the preparation of self-studies, annual reports, and mitigation of program deficiencies if necessary.

  • Coordinate recruiting and selection of graduate Nursing Faculty for employment, monitor faculty development, conduct faculty performance reviews, and participate in faculty reappointment, continuing appointment, and promotion recommendations.

  • Plan, monitor and evaluate graduate instruction related to best practices for both full-time and part-time faculty.

  • Direct student recruitment and retention

  • Schedule faculty workloads.

  • Establish an MS in Nursing Administration Advisory Board.

  • Collaborate with healthcare organizations, community partners, and other stakeholders to create clinical placement opportunities and enrich the learning experience.

Teaching

  • The Program Coordinator will be expected to teach within the graduate program and have demonstrable expertise in online teaching and curriculum development.

  • Curriculum Development - The Program Coordinator will oversee the design, evaluation and overall program assessment as related to industry standards and best practices.

  • Student Success - create an environment conducive to student success by supporting a solid advisement process, leading to enhanced retention and graduation rates. Students are expected to participate in decisions affecting positive program outcomes.

Scholarship

  • Candidates should have a research agenda or area of interest that complements their area of academic specialty resulting in peer-reviewed publications and presentations, both of which are necessary for promotion and tenure at Farmingdale State College.

Service

  • Active participation on departmental, school and college-wide committees is required.

  • Service to the local community is encouraged through volunteer activities in one of many organizations that promote an enhanced quality of life.

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Doctoral Degree in Nursing or related field

  • New York State nursing license or eligibility.

  • Recent teaching experience at the graduate level.

  • Expertise in online education

  • Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and program management.

  • Solid understanding of nursing accreditation requirements and processes.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skill.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with educational systems including banner, degree works, Brightspace.

  • Certified Nurse Educator

  • Previous experience in a leadership or administrative position within a nursing program.

Additional Information:

This is a 10-month UUP faculty position.

  • For the first 10 working days, beginning Friday, February 23, 2024 and ending Thursday, March 7, 2024, applications will be limited to UUP Farmingdale.
  • CLOSING DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS: Open Until Filled
  • SALARY: $85,000 + $3,400 in downstate location pay = $88,400 Total Compensation. Salary may increase commensurate with experience.
  • ANTICIPATED START DATE: September 1, 2024
